They tell you but sometimes they trick outta town people.

The admission is a donation so don't feel obligated to spend the $30 or whatever it is. You can give them $5 if you want to. Doesn't include special shows

Just avoid eating at restaurants around that area. Food in Hell's Kitchen, Times Square, etc is mediocre and overpriced. Also, don't believe the hype about Shake Shack and don't think just because there's a hundred people lined up that it's actually good. Another overpriced mediocre place. For how much you pay there you can get a 100x better meal outside of the tourist traps

This might be a touristy suggestion, but check out the Press Lounge, which shouldn't be too far of a walk from where you're at. Good cocktails and a great view of the city. The girls my friend and I took loved it there

Check out a Met game, bars and restaurants all over the place so you have a ton of options

34th st, soho, downtown brooklyn, harlem

There's also a really good dim sum spot in Chinatown if you're down to make a 25 min journey. I forgot the name, but local NYCers might be able to help out here; I'm sure it's well known cause the walls are plastered with pictures of celebrities eating there and posing with the staff. Service was awful but the food was good and cheap

last time i was in new york i got ran out of espn zone in times square by a woman from new jersey who played rugby

Mets games are likely going to get rained out with Joaquin passing through. The weather is going to stink for the next few days so buy an umbrella.
If you're into sneakers, check out the Sneaker Culture exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum. The exhibit ends on the 4th. While you're in Brooklyn, check out the historic Louis H Pink Houses. Some of the finest post war architecture in the city. Linden's Pizza and Ribs is some of the best food you'll eat while here.
Stay away from Times Square. It is a headache and not worth the hassle. The restaurants there are what you would have in your city.

BROOKLYN MUSEUM WILL BE FREE THIS WEEKEND ON SATURDAY AND IT IS USUALLY LIVELY WITH MUSIC AND THERE IS A SNEAKER EXHIBIT TOO RIGHT NOW.

ALSO AGREE WITH A NYC SLICE.. THEY ARE THE BEST.. DOLLAR SLICES ARE COOL BUT A SOLID LIKE 2 DOLLAR AND CHANGE SLICE WILL SET YOU OUT.

IF YOURE IN BROOKLYN AND DONT MIND SPICY FOOD.. YOU NEED TO GET SOME JERK CHICKEN (CARIBBEAN FOOD).. IF YOURE INTO THAT.. SHAKE SHACK IS A BURGER SPOT THAT IS A MUST DO IN NYC SO YOU SHOULD CHECK THAT OUT ALSO

AND IF YOU WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE ... PLEASE .. PLEASE.. PLEASE.. DO NOT DO IT IN THE MIDDLE OF A SIDEWALK :D
