PSNY x Air Jordan 12

If you're gonna look for that trade you're def. gonna need to throw cash in with the foams. The foams will eventually restock whereas the chance of the psny restocking is doubtful at bear

I wouldn't consider it helping in the sense of going out of the way to make $0, but it is helping in the sense that it was a fair price. I don't know who in today's world would try to grab a profitable limited shoe and give it away to a stranger for retail. If you do, let me know because I'd like to become best friends with them.

Well, when the ChiCity XX3s released, a guy helped me get them for retail. It's not the PSNY's, but it's still a limited shoe. He could've tried to make his profit. Now THAT is a nice guy helping. Not this other guy who wants props for LOOKING like a nice guy. He padded his pockets with a decent amount. I salute the real helpers on NT. There are still some great guys here.

On a serious note ,i dont expect people to value their time  0 $  to help me.

I never said him wanting props for selling at a decent price was right. But for sure there are FEW members that genuinely do help. It's just rare and when they do help, I know they don't announce it. I'm just saying that when it comes to a limited shoe, it will be more difficult for anyone to help especially when chances of copping are already slim. No hate for those that use the hobby to support the hobby.

Well, the guy who helped me has a friend in me, and if he needs a shoe here I will do the same for him for free.

Over $200 in profit is "helping."

Just goes to show you how wacked it is today. Whatever.

Thanks to the guys out there who REALLY help. Props to you. [emoji]128077[/emoji][emoji]127995[/emoji]

i sold both of mine to NTers here for 450 shipped. glad i could help some people get them.
LOL at this guy. We already negotiated that you would sell me the pair once you got them in hand but never got back to me about it anymore. SMH. I wouldnt call that helping at all.

There is such thing as totally free help, but that doesn't mean help for compensation is not still helpful. How about helping to reimburse the person for the time and effort they put in to get you something you want and could not aquire otherwise?

Doesn't have to always be money....could be a favor for a favor...just saying that its not as simple as help=free...

What if you help someone get those psny at retail and then they turn around and sell or trade it at resale value?

Not taking sides here but trying to add some perspective....

I've been on NT for a while and at one point there was a group of us that helped each other cop at retail, if someone missed and someone else "cooked" than we hooked each other up. Not sure what happened but my assumption is greed eventually took over.

I look at it like this. If you selling to another collector for less then market value you helped.

He could have easily sold for market value but instead took a cut in his profit to help someone else out.

You have to factor in that this was a limited release. On GR that I can walk into a store and pick up I have no problem helping out for retail. (Have done it many times)

At the end of the day the seller and the customer are both happy. So it's a win win situation

Friend is different from stranger.

This is that favor for a favor thing that was mentioned. I believe in this, but it needs to be built on trust.

So I guess in conclusion, the definition of "help" is very subjective. If people are happy with the deal they got, it's all that matters.

Couldn't agree with snapreme more.
I am a fairly new member here and I got a price I was comfortable paying for the psny's from a reputable member on here. Would it have been nice for me to cop for $450-475 ?Absolutely but that's a little unrealistic and I still got them cheaper than any CL or ebay listing in my size plusI know I got a 100% authentic pair from someone who knows his shi*. He could've easily said "nah $600" or more but he worked with me. It's all about supply and demand, and every situation is different. He had what I wanted and I can't be mad about paying over retail. If I was lucky enough to get them on RD who's to say what price I would have let them go for but it probably wouldn't have been $450-500 to anyone . In this situation, me getting a hot limited release that I really wanted at the lowest price I could get, almost a month after it dropped is "helping". Whether it's a dollar or a hundred, helping is helping.

Those days are looooong gone homie. That was before reselling was looked at as a full time job. I've helped others cook for retail and been helped numerous times since I joined NT. ANd for all types of releases (limited, GR, outlets). But as the times change so do people. Tough pill to swallow but it is what it is. A "favor" now is selling for $250 over retail rather than $400+. Which isn't terrible if you REALLY want that particular shoe. But also, I think many NTers have been burned trying to help out someone who wasn't as generous when the time came to return the favor.

Yep, that happened to me twice. I literally lost money on one lol (10 bucks). I hooked someone up on Columbia 11s at retail plus ship minus my 20 dollar coupon I used for them and I ooped Chicago 1s and got no love back lol. It's all good though, I pretty much get whatever I want on my own other than these PSNY 12s and the yeezys.

I didn't lose any money but it's happened to me as well. EIther I didn't get a response back when I needed some assistance or selling to me for retail became as issue after they already agreed to it. I just learned to be more prepared for the releases that I really wanted. Only L's I took in 2015 were on PSNY's (thanks again NDC) and yeezys too

This still happens in select threads.
