Shooting reported at Umpqua Community College in Oregon.....Another one :{

FORTY FIVE?! How is this real???

I think anyone capable of taking another human life is mentally ill and should be tossed in a lake of piranha. Trash.

Mental health is the key issue for mass shootings, but it's not the key issue relating to the majority of gun violence in America.
What's the key issue? In your opinion.
Income inequality and lack of opportunity. It's no coincidence that the majority of gun violence in America is a result of handguns and takes place in densely-populated, low-income urban areas.

Before gun control is addressed this country needs to address institutionalized racism, class warfare, and the war on drugs.

While I agree with a lot of this. Most of these mass shootings happen in nice areas, and clearly the warning signs were there in a lot of these cases too.

...which is why I said mental health is generally the key issue when it comes to mass shootings.  Go back to my first post.

John Parker, a vet with a concealed carry permit was not allowed to go to the scene. School staff would not allow him and another vet to go try to stop the shooter :rolleyes He's being interviewed now on Hannity.

You mean to tell me that the authorities didn't want a civilian playing vigilante at a crime scene with an active shooter?

What a travesty!

You mean if your family member was killed today, you wouldn't have wanted someone to try and stop that killer?

This I can agree with.

Think about it though. How many of yall decide to strap up on the daily even with a concealed license thinking something might go wrong that day? It happened at a school, people going on about their normal lives when some psychopath decides to go on a shooting spree. Maybe security guards should who knows but just because we have a right to bear arms doesn't mean every person in America is strapped with one.

You'd be surprised. If I had a concealed Carry permit, I'd strap up everywhere.

i think mental health has more to do with the crime in urban areas then income and opportunity or maybe income and lack of opportunity causes people in low income urban areas to have mental health issues

so what is he mixed white.. thats all i wanna know.. i hvet heard thug so he may not be black..lol

Because half the United States really isn't that developed. They just pretend it is and act surprised murder rates are sky high.

Comparison Ford already nailed it.

I believe the people who were authorized with that task did stop the killer

An armed citizen out there pretending he's the Punisher just adds to the mayhem

The problem is less about gun control and more about how we treat the mentally ill in this country IMO.

Just my observation.

Also thank god for the police who ran in there and were able to take down this maniac.
