OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2023-2024 SEASON THREAD

Really like Cole. Solid all the way around, but son needs to learn how to dunk. He missed 4 tonight.

Dude must have small hands. It's not like he's getting hung, he just can't get it in the rim.

I wanna hate on Doc for not playing Josh or Lance but it sure did work tonight

CP3 got an extra pep in his step the last week or so. Still missing that little 10 footer more often than I'm used to but love how aggresive he's been. Gotta keep it going against CHA.

The question is, can you get away playing PP, Austin, and Jamal extended minutes in the playoffs or against elite teams at the expense of Lance and Josh. In my opinion, no. But we'll see.

Good win. Cole being inserted into the second unit has done WONDERS for it on both sides of the ball, and Pablo taking the primary backup pg duties is a welcomed site to see for sure. There's some chemistry developing between cole and Pablo, and I'm intrigued to see where that relationship goes. Cole is providing a real dive man for P&R for the second unit, and to my surprise is pretty good at catching the ball on the move and making a play either for himself or others without looking like an idiot. He's been a true revelation.

When Blake comes back that'll push PP back to the 2nd unit which will undoubtedly cause a trickle down effect as far as rotations go that i'm seriously worried about, but for now I'm enjoying and living with these rotations.  Charlotte won't be easy at all, but here's to hoping we can finally string together some games here and garner some momentum in Blake's absence.

Absolutely! Pierce is bicycle!

lance and Jamal are both expiring, right? There have got to be teams out there that need cap relief and would be willing to take these guys. I love Lance but Doc has hated him from day one.

Austin should honestly be the odd man out after seeing pablo and cole work the last couple games.

Are there any realistic trades we can make for a SF that isn't 38?

Fully agree. If all those guys are playing extended minutes in the playoffs, we're going to have to many defensive holes to advance very far. I think Doc figuring out a way to get the most out of Lance and Josh represents our best chance for getting somewhere in the playoffs. But that doesn't seem to be the route Glenn is going.

Going to feel bad for Josh if he ends up getting traded since he took less money to come here.

You guys read Broderick Turner's piece in the LA Times? Apparently Doc will be playing Pablo, Austin, Jamal together a lot more. Lance is rotting away and I can't eem understand why. Also, where does that leave Wes? PF?

Lance and Josh, our two best bench players imo, will be racking up DNP's until we have another injury. Im gonna need a high ankle sprain from Luc. Sorry it had to be you :frown:

Mind bottling, just mind bottling. I mean, really, what has Lance done so wrong? Yeah, he has a few errant turnovers now and again, but so do Austin, Jamal, Luc, etc. He contributes whenever he's in, particularly in terms of bringing energy. I honestly don't know what Doc wants from him.

Luc being in the starting lineup, Lance and josh not playing, these things will hurt us in the long run.

Y'all know i'm an austin fan but I like the chemistry that Pablo and cole are developing so I can deal with Pablo playing. (Even though he's god awful on defense) Austin and Jamal playing over lance is the issue with me.

Along with PP playing. Once blake comes back that'll make our rotations even more awkward and weird. PP playing, and playing decent right now will convince doc to play him at small ball four in that second unit. Which means that either Pablo / Austin / Jamal one of them will be out of the rotation completely and it'll likely be Pablo which I won't be all that happy about. Jamal and Austin have been flat out awful really until Washington on monday, so i'm not enthused about them two playing over lance.

So we'll see. I'm glad we're winning right now and hopefully we win tonight, but our rotations are still something that's sketchy as hell.

We're banged up but at least the teams we're playing are more banged up than us

Clipper great Spencer Hawes, Al Jefferson, Jeremy Lin, and possibly Nic Batum are all out for Charlotte tonight

I'm saying we're catching mad breaks right now. Perfect recipe for Doc to decide we're better than we are.

Soooooo

This pablo / Cole dynamic from the 2nd unit is lowkey spectacular. It'll be interesting once blake comes back how he'll manage the 2nd unit because those two have really stabalized our 2nd unit. A lot less chaotic

Yeah. Cole just needs to finish a bit better, but otherwise he does everything well. And Pablo is just real stable and good in PnR. I've been wanting both to play more, but not necessarily as the expanse of Josh and Lance.

We'll see what happens when everyone is healthy. But I guess we need to appreciate that we're taking advantage of this soft spot in the schedule.

I honestly feel lie we would have lost one of these games if we were healthy. The team is playing desperate. Built double digit leads in less than six minutes in both games.

Keep it rolling!

Man, beat up teams or not, a 5-0 road trip is pretty impressive. All the opportunity was there for us to blow this game and we didn't. Props to the team.

But more importantly, HAPPY NEW YEAR NT CLIPPER NATION!!!!

Had ZERO business winning this game. Still not sure how we did it. Fools gold or not, I'm really enjoying PP actually hitting some threes.

Luc is awful but he did have a couple big defensive plays.

DJ played his *** off again.
Pablo a little pest.
JJ business as usual.
Jamal taking stupid ***, off-balance jumpers begging for a foul.
CP3 had a terrible shooting night but he was due for an off night.

PLEASE PLAY JOSH AND LANCE.

Happy New Years Clipper fam. May the Liqs be plenty and the yambs be gotten.

Got the liqs covered. Yambs, not so much. When you're married and your wife is about a week post-kidney transplant, she's not feeling too frisky. I'll live though.

Anyway, HNY!!!

Happy new year fellas. Going into 2016 on a winning note.

Hope to see all y'all at the parade in June

- Yae Yae is the hottest player in the NBA

- The Fact that we're 21-13, and have a top 6 record in the NBA right now lowkey is a feat. When you adjust for the overall mediocrity in the western conference, we're about right where we were at at this time last year.

- Could get a nice streak of games going here. Optimistic about the next 10.

Should win tonight, that'll give us 6 in a row.

Looking at the schedule, the next 6 are at Portland, then a 5 game homestand against Charlotte, New Orleans, Miami, and Sacramento.

We won't do this, but we could be looking at a nice 12 game winning streak going into the 18th at home against Houston. Have a chance to make some serious hay here in the standings and put some real separation between us and everyone else below us. Could even catch OKC in this stretch and come within striking distance of San Antonio.

Real nice, soft spot in the schedule that given the way we're playing right now, we should take advantage of.

with this kind of talent and lineup versus the Sixers tonight losing is NOT an option,,if it does happen they end up losing the game,,Doc Rivers and his staff needs to get fired from heir job,,just saying!!!

I wonder if jj had the ball on his hands w/the second unit if he could make some good things happen for us? He's a decent ball handler and passer. He may be a nightmare off ball screens w/ Josh Smith. Especially because Josh Smith has the capability of making draymond-like plays in a 3 on 2 or 4 on 3 situations.
