at this point, i'd take that in ONE postseason game.

I still don't drink from that gsw goblet. Something in me tells me that they can be beaten consistently with the right personnel and game plan.

Easier said than done, I know. But I think the clips have the right personnel...game plan? Not so much, at least to date.

I do expect to see every team gsw faces in the playoffs to switch every single curry off ball screen and run all shooters off the 3 point line...especially in the corners. Along with switching any curry/green pnr. Giving Gsw to live with 2s instead of killing you with 3s.

Remember I said it...Gsw will win 72+ games and not make the finals.

Not saying we'll be the ones to get them for sure. But that's my prediction.

As much as I don't want to see that record beaten, it looks like it's heading that way. Them not making to the finals would cause the great debate on what happened on how they couldn't get it together in the post season after having a the greatest season ever.

I could talk myself into The Clippers beating GSW.

They certainly have the personnel to do so, and if Austin can continue to be a borderline elite spot up shooter and just an overall viable offensive option, that changes things dramatically. He's the wild card here because the difference between his highs and lows are so drastic. If we get this kind of Austin off the bench, you throw in Wes/Jeff Green/Crawford, and all of a sudden you have an extremely competent 9 man rotation, ten if you count Cole. 

I do agree though, every team almost, since the Spurs played GSW have just said **** it and switched everything and you will see a lot of that in the playoffs, especially with LAC, who have the personnel to do it. Switch everything and push them inside the line and live with the results.

I don't need stats to tell me that. Been painfully obvious in all out series losses since Jamal got on the team. Going all the way back to that time we lost to Memphis in round 1. Jamal cooked the 1st two games we went up 2-0. Got the Tony Allen treatment after that and we lost 4 straight.

With iggy not in the best of health, and Barnes being super inconsistent... In addition to their extreme over confidence all the way down to their "loyal" fan base. They're ripe. Let's pick them

We have bigs that are better at executing that game plan better than the spurs as well.

The book is out on Jamal in the playoffs. I remember Game 5 against OKC, where we collapsed down the stretch. CP's bad play overshadowed the fact that Jamal was like 3/15 that game. His play reallyyyyy suffers when he has to go up against the elite night in and night out.

BUT, a caveat, sort of. This is the best cast that the Clippers have had w/starters + bench since Jamal's first year here. This team is legit as deep as its ever been, which is why I said previously that the ceiling on this team is higher than any team in the CP era, just sucks that this is the year that there's 2 70 win teams in the conference. 

But from top to bottom, this is about as good as you can get IMO when it comes to filling out a roster that has now 3 max level guys. You look at our bench, you have Austin, Jamal, Jeff Green, Wes Johnson, Cole Aldridch, guys who aren't exceptional or groundbreaking, but they should be able to be competent, and they're all more than playable. I've had my gripes with Luc but even he has found a niche and purpose playing with the starters. 

I say all that to say that we shouldn't have to depend on Jamal's offensive ability off the bench (Especially if Austin continues this upward trend) and he should become much more of a catch and shoot / catch and go guy with Austin and Jeff Green surrounding him which in theory, should bold well for us.

All of which I agree with, especially w/having bigs that can execute that game plan. It's the reason why if GSW goes small I wouldn't go small, I would keep DJ and Blake in. They are mobile and big enough to run them off the line.

You are 10000% correct. The way to fight small ball is to have the right personnel, then make them pay big time on the boards (especially the offensive glass) and in the low post. Most teams don't have the right personnel to do that and still switch everything on d. We are one of the few that do. Gsw wants you to go small when they go small because they're better at it than anyone else. If you stay big and make them pay for going small on the glass and down low, you'll keep them honest.

And....And...dRaymond green cannot guard bg. I am thoroughly convinced of that.

I think we're a terrible rebounding team however, which is why it'll be imperative to not go small against GSW and stick with Blake and DJ. You can't sacrifice second chance opportunities ever, but especially against GSW on the road. 

On another note, We'll probably play Portland in the first round, but I'm confident in that matchup. We've won like 9 of 11 against them or something and we normally control Lillard so I'm confident we can win that in five games.

Really depends on how physical the refs permit him to be. If he's allowed to constantly body and push Blake, then he can be effective. But just straight up, without too much help from the refs, he gets cooked.

Agreed. I think we are terrible because of the lack of emphasis on rebounding by the coaches. We definitely have what it takes to be an elite rebounding team. I just hope more emphasis is placed on it if we face gsw.

Agree. At this rate, anything we get out of him in the playoffs, at least to start, is gravy.

Agreed. Didn't think he would be this "lost" on the floor. Game looks too fast for him at the moment and he has no real touch. Plus the bad body language.

Aside from that, as a team we're looking good. CP is in rare form right now. Like the way we're looking heading into the playoffs.
