LOL. I had forgotten about the Houston game.

Glad to see the team pour it on em in OT...good to see JJ drop 40 for the first time in his NBA career. 10-1 without BG, keep the ball rollling! :smokin

Said it in the NBA thread, but I like where this team is headed man.

An actual Competent bench with Wes, Cole, Pablo, have all really stabalized the 2nd unit, something we really haven't had. They even are making Jamal Crawford play more in control, which is a plus.

I'm not a fan of Luc starting, but between him and Wes, we're becoming formidable on the wings. Don't know where things are headed, but I like it.

When you realize that JJ is shooting 50% from 3 right now, avg 17 a night in 27 min per, and players are shooting over 8% worse when guarded by JJ

Jesus Christ he's been great. Normally don't have a breakout campaign like this when you're 31

The Clippers have done well and could finish in the top 10 in defensive efficiency, shooting defense and 3-point defense, all important indicators
This is why I like the trajectory of this team. They are much further along defensively at this point than last season.

Saw two "news" stories today that we're interested in trading for Rudy Gay. But neither had any attribution for that idea whatsoever, so I think its just pure speculation characterized as "rumors." In some ways, Rudy makes a lot of sense for us, but since the teams he's been on have tended to improve after he leaves, I think I'm inclined to stay away from him.

I would personally go for it tbh

if it just cost us Josh and Lance, I suppose why not? Not like they're playing anyway.
Right. (However, I think we'll need Josh down the line as a backup 4 man. PP I don't think will get it done)

Plus, I can convince myself that Rudy would be a plus defender with the core four surrounding him and he's leaps and bounds better offensively than Luc. I like our chances more with Rudy than Luc.

But I don't think it's going to happen so it's all whatever. I've seen Rudy's name linked to several teams. Wonder why the Kings want to get rid of him if these claims have any merit.

Do any of you listen to Jim Rome? Austin Rivers was on yesterday and had a really good interview.

-Said Curry might be the most confident player of all time.
-Said the team often asks each other why everybody hates them
-Said he thinks people hate them because they complain alot. (He also said he doesn't think the complain a lot.)
-Said JJ is a terrible dancer. Didn't Wes Say JJ was the best?
-Said Lance and Luc are the best dancers.
-Said he spent crazy hours puttingup shots this summer and was going crazy when he still couldn't ht any earlier this season
-Said shoeking is his favorite Clipper fan

Really good interview.

I think its kind of a scapegoat thing. They've performed under expectations, so they have to blame somebody. Boogie has been good, as has Rondo, but Rudy has just been ok. Therefore he seems to be the guy who is most expendable who also potentially has the highest trade value. Nobody is giving the Kings anything good for, say, for Ben Mac or any of their bench players. Plus, its too early for them to give up on Ben Mac. So that leaves Rudy as their best trade asset.

The Clippers do complaint a lot, but after having had League Pass for the last two weeks and watching a bunch of games, the Clippers really aren't that much worse than most other team. Like I watched OKC last night against Denver and KD and Russ were constantly complaining to the refs. Just as bad as anything I've seen from CP and/or Blake. But it actually worked for KD and Russ because they ended up getting a bunch of weak calls in their favor.

Oh believe me, I know. Even last year during the Spurs series, there were several times each game where Parker, Manu, and even Duncan would complain about calls. The only person who didn't complain was Kawhi but that dude is from the IE so he's already a weirdo.

But yea, people see what they want to see. KD launching himself to draw a foul in the playoffs 2 years ago never gets brought up. That CP3/Cousins gif doe? Gets posted every week

Posted this in the NBA thread just now, and Like I said a page or two back, I'm much more optimistic about this team than I was when we were 7-8.

Mainly because of the defense. We still have trouble rebounding but we are defending much better. This is probably the best defensive team in the Doc Rivers era and it's making me a believer.

Clips obviously have trouble closing out games this year, but they've held fourth quarter leads against SAS, Twice against GSW, and was a victim to a game winner against OKC that the league ruled shouldn't have counted. In the three games that we've played Houston this year, two of them we either didn't have blake or CP, and the other was on a back to back after playing SAS.

Obviously we didn't win those games so there's something to be said there, but we are not that far away from the elite to me. Maybe it's my homer bias but I genuinely don't think we are. Would I pick us in a 7 gamer against GSW or SAS right now? No, but we aren't a finished product and still don't know what our rotations are going to be come playoff time. Could be a completely different story come playoff time.
Or we could be bounced in the first round by the Mavs or Grizz, because that would be the 100% Clipper thing to do.

^^^ I'm reserving judgment and optimism until I see how we look after Blake gets back against some tougher teams. Also, I expect us to go down tonight. We always seem to have trouble in Cleveland, LeBronathan or no LeBronathan.

The Knicks tomorrow isn't going to be a picnic either.

Blake Griffin won't play in the Clippers' next two games http://lat.ms/1SzO0lv

Oh well. Wasn't expecting him to play in these games anyway.

Well that's the thing that I alluded to, against the toughest of the tough we have faired much better than the final outcomes would have Suggest. That's why to me, How we've faired against the elite is far more encouraging than we've been given credit for. It's not as simple as W's and L's against the elite 41 games into the season. The black and white approach does not tell how good the clips have been against the elite.

We only have 14 losses, of which we should of and could of beaten the Warriors twice, could have beaten SAS, and should have beaten OKC and Houston, the latter two the league ruled that we should have by all intents and purposes, been awarded victories.

Maybe it's a cup half full sort of thing, but if some calls go our way, and a few bounces go our way during those games early in the season, the outlook on this team is COMPLETELY different. Not to mention, of the top 4, we've been bitten by the injury bug more so than any other team. All of our core four has missed at least some time.

With that being said, I don't think we win tonight.

We're 0-11 all time against Bron Bron on the road. Yikes
