OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2023-2024 SEASON THREAD

I would disagree bro. Bad matchups are the clippers and the Spurs. That's obviously a bad match up for San Antonio. But they won't be getting beat by 50 to us routinely.

IMO, there's bad matchups...and getting beat by 50,30,50 consecutively. I don't think a matchup is that bad for one of the best teams in the league. By all metrics, eye test, the clippers have been one of the best teams in the league this year. No way should the outcomes in any game be this lopsided, multiple times. Gotta be beyond a simple matchup issue

There's absolutely a mental component to it. The team has admitted as much. During the broadcast last night the announcers read a quote from CP3 where he said something like, "we want to beat them so badly that when we get out there, we force it and do things we don't normally do." And its obviously true. There must have been at last 5 turnovers last night where a guy threw a pass that he would never try in most games. That's just one example.

Like I said earlier in the year, I think the best thing the team can do now in regard to GSW is to just accept that we're not as good as them. Not even in the same class. Accept that, forget everything else and just play.

This is much different than this
these ****** are flat out scared man
I'll take trying too hard over being scared

I should have been clearer, I refuse to believe that they are scared....and if they are we really do need to blow the team up. I want nothing to do with any player that shows up to a game scared.

Like you said, the issue is that GSW is wayyyyy better than us. You can't compare SA and Memphis when talking about how we fare against them. We're better than SA and Memphis imo. GS is in a whole different league. We're gonna get blown out again in a couple more days

LAC has regressed so much in the gsw matchup that its not even worth mentioning gsw anymore

in looking at the games, they dont even do the simple things right. at this point, you know what every team is gonna run and what needs to be done to stop that team. LAC looks like they are seeing gsw for the first time ever, every time they step on the court.

OK, maybe this Melo trade won't happen. I don't think anyone wants to take Jamal off our hands because of the number of years on his deal. Oh well.

Doc and his Jamal man crush

2 fold situation.

No one wants to take Jamal's deal because of the length of it, but without the deal we don't have Jamal, and we wouldn't even have enough money in salary to even be in the room for melo

Hopefully some team gets desperate closer to the deadline to get something done.

^^^ A team would have to be pretty damn desperate to take a 37 year old, inefficient chucker who plays marginal defense at best, with 3 years left on his contract. But stranger things have happened, I suppose.

Maybe the Cavs would take him. They're kind of in shambles right now - as much as any team with LBJ, Kyrie and Love could be in shambles.

Is it just me or do an unusually higher number of our bench players complete fade into Bolivian after we're done with them? Like, when's the last time someone saw Chris Douglas-Roberts? Big Baby. Odom. The list goes on.

Don't know what got me thinking about that. LOL.

Blake's athleticism since being back has been

He's been incredibly spry since he's been back.

Watching Blake against GSW and now PHX just lets me know that he indeed was hurt before the surgery.

looks like the melo trade is dead? knicks still pressuring the cavs to make the deal for love.

Well, the Cavs definitely not trading Love for Melo, so we'll see. Right now I'm predicting Melo is still with the Knicks by the deadline.

i agree 100%

just figured since we havent heard much on the melo front, and espn reports the knicks basically begging the cavs for love again...that the deal was toast

So Doc has repeatedly said this season that Luc is the best perimeter defender in the league. Yet, Luc never sees the court in crunch time. What kind of sense does that make?

It makes sense.

Not that I agree with it, but in doc's eyes he can be the best perimeter player in the league, and yet can't play down the stretch due to his offensive shortcomings, and his defense not being as valuable down the stretch when you need offense. Both can be true.
