Yep. We've been poor at countering adjustments other teams make. The Warriors small line-up was killing us and we didn't do anything differently. We have the personnel to match that, but didn't use it. Frustrating.

Hopefully there's no carry-over in Portland tonight.

I was telling my brother I wish we would have bit the bullet and put in Josh smith and lance in for PP/DJ. Then we would be able to switch everything just like GS was doing. Crawford is like 33 and still plays like a rookie. Dude thinks if someone passes the ball he HAS to shoot. There was a play, in the 3rd I think, where we had GS scrambling to closeout and they passed it to the Austin I think at the top of the 3 pt line, he swings jt to Crawford, crawford shoots the ball instead of swinging it to PP for the open corner 3.

It's little things like that that ruin a possesion. The worst thjng that could happen is him making these shots cuz then he thinks it's a good decision. Even in the first aurter when we were bulding that huge lead he had a possession where he brought the ball up and pulled up for a midrange brick. It's so annoying.

I watched the whole game knowing that we would lose but I was hoping it would come sooner  We built up that lead by Blake hitting one foot fadeaways and CP3 hitting 4 3's. If I were a GS I would noy have been worried at all. That's that fools gold offense. It was nice too see but no way we were gonna keep it up.

That lineup with Draymomd at center kills us. Surprised it took Luke that long to bring them in.

But, as I said, Doc won't try and counter it with small ball line-up for us. DJ is basically useless when they go small like that. Rim protection becomes irrelevant because GSW just moves the ball until they get a good outside shot. And he's a defensively liability because he doesn't come out far enough on the shooters when they run PNR. Doc needs to put in Josh or even Wes instead of DJ in those situations.

That lineup with draymond at center kills everyone tbh  like the entire league doesn't have answer for it haha

But alright lets get this W in portland. Schedule softens up a bit right here. Hopefully we can take advantage

That's the thing tho. Is there a reason they don't start that lineup? I see no point in saving it when it is clearly unstoppable. Seems backwards as hell to me .

If any team has the players to stop that it's the Clips. Poor decisions by Doc down the stretch. Chris was balling out of his mind while nursing the injury. BG needs to abuse that small ball lineup. I'm putting this loss entirely on Doc. Also, there is absolutely no reason Truth AND Jamal should be playing 20+ minutes including heavy minutes down the stretch. Neither of them plays defense well and don't rebound.

GM Doc brings in all these great players to have them warm the bench. He does not know how to utilize the team. I'm slowly moving towards moving Doc to GM position full time. His nonsense is driving me crazy.

To your point, I dont understand how crawford playsd the most minutes on the team last night and how pp played 31 minutes. Baffling honestly. I rewatched the game last night when I got home and if you just watch pp and crawford, you'll just see how much of a team killer they are. Then to erupt's point, crawford will make one or two horrible shots that encourage that nonsense.

More minutes for Austin / wes / josh / lance. Enough with the non defenders man we need defense. And in Austin, Wes, and To an extent Josh can do it on offense as well. And we played crawford and pierce on defense man

Closing lineups of Blake / Wes / Austin / JJ / CP would be a pretty good lineup against their smallball lineup.

From the rotations, to bringing back his horses too late, doc rivers has been pretty bad.

Man I REALLY like Wes so far. He knows his role. Stay in the corner as much as possible and take the open shot. Crash the offensive glass on occasion. Play defense.

Has Doc given a reason for not playing Lance the last couple of games? Did Lance do something stupid or is Doc just Doc'ing?

Same here. A lot of my friends and family (all Lakers fans) say he's garbage but he knows his role and doesn't try to do too much.

To address Erupts point...

This is the dumbest response to anything ever. I'm over Coach Doc.

Doc just doc'ing man. How does Lance get a dnp while crawford and pp play 38 and 31 min

How we handle our fourth quarter rotations will determine whether we break through or not. How we trade for Lance, Sign wes, to play friggin crawford and pierce down the stretch. If its obvious as us to fans, then how can it not be obvious to the damn coach? The romanticism behind PP and Jamal's offensive ability will lowkey be the death of us.

And I'm not saying that playing wes austin josh and lance more would result in beating the warriors but What I am saying is they give us a better chance at winning, especially austin and wes. We need as many two way players as possible, especially when the warriors or a team go small

Sidebar: let's hope that CP's performance last night means that his hand is healed and his groin is fine so he can regain his shooting touch he had last season. Big part of what we do.

Jamal gotta go. Wes and J Smoove gotta get more PT. PP needs to play with the starters, and starters only.

6-5, but I'm not worried for some weird reason. Probably has a lot do do with the rest of the west struggling out the gate. Plus cp3 missing a good portion of the games. Think it's helpful to look at things in the larger picture. In the Hot Takes era, an 8-5 month seems bad. But we all know the Clips SHOULD end up with 56-60 wins. Likely 2 or 3 seed. Don't think the 1 is in play with how GSW is playing this year.

But Clips have to absolutely aim for that 2. Spurs and them will battle for it.

The five losses I won't say are encouraging, but they aren't anything to be worried about. Dallas shot out of their minds and CP played hurt and JJ didn't even finish the game, Blake / CP and JJ didn't play against PHX, Lost competitively to GSW twice, and Houston w/o JJ and CP.

They've looked good for the most part and are farther along at this point than they were last year. Doc's rotations just have been awful, but that's okay considering it's 8, 9 new players. There are some concerns for sure, but smooth out the rotations and get healthy and we SHOULD be fine.

The next 18 games or so are critical though because they literally are all games that we could and should win. Only like 3 playoff teams and all are from the east or something like that.

What a time.

My concern is not how the record but how we lost those games...blowing big leads, some in the 4th.

Shoeking points out that Doc's rotations have been bad but we'll see if they get better...

He made Steph his ho right off the bat. It was a marvelous thing to see. Cuz was out there hitting spinmoves for no reason  thought I was watching 2008 CP3.

I remember i didn't want PP last offseason cuz I thougt this is what he would do. Then i drank a gallon of that kool aid after watching him in the playoffs with the wiz. I should have known better

Remember when we were talking about a 17-3 type start. Lmao, seems so long ago.

I still think we're capable of beating any team in the west beaides GS (even them lowkey) in a 7 game series. Not saying we would be favored but we can compete with any team in the league. Just gotta learn how to close and Doc gotta get his head out his ***

As somebody that was Neutral on the Clips. Once thought D-Will> Cp3...and actually was rooting for the Grizz to beat the Clips in that 2012 finals, it's mind blowing the hate that this franchise gets . It legit seems like bandwagon hate.

Fans seem cool as ****. Most of their big time celebrity fans are cool, long suffering fans. Other than whining (which everybody does in te NBA), the Clips just aren't hate able to me. Except DJ. All the unusual groupthink hate from media and fans turned me to a legit fan.

Idk. I'm a pretty neutral person on all things. Seems like the most educated basketball discussions go on in this thread. Since my Nuggets can't win, I'd love nothing more than to see the Clips win a chip or have continued success :pimp:

!! Yup

Trading Jamal is cool. Just tough to think of who would trade anything of worth for him

Plus the past 5 games he's averaging 20 points on .447 shooting and .407 from deep

He's a chucker, an old beat up chucker, so again, cool trade him away. Just sayin

.500

A lot of winnable games coming up here. Let's see what we can do with these and get some momentum generated.

What a time

I'm actually starting to get concerned because, when I think about, we haven't played that well this season. Even when we we're 4-0, we didn't have any great performances and just squeaked by against some undermanned team. Since that point, we're only 2-6. We have major issues with defense and rebounding and the offense hasn't been clicking that well either. If we don't significantly improve soon, I think we'll be looking at a middle seed in the playoffs.

The concerns for me are the three point shooting, the defense, and doc's rotations.

Of course I would like to see us board better, but we werent a good rebounding team last year either. The reason why our offense is so elite is because of our 3 point marksmanship in the past few years. Thats not there this year with CP being banged up and cold from 3, JJ redick being banged up, and since doc refuses to play wes more it amplifies matt barnes absence, who shot it well from deep last season too.

The defense has to get better but that coincides with our piss poor rebounding. I dont know how we're going to get better at that either honestly unless a deal is made.

Clean up the boards, regain form from 3, and get these rotations straightened out. We've always been a better second half of the season team than first one under doc, hopefully we dont have to sacrifice too many more wins before we finally get to where we want to be. Luckily, it looks like the win total for everyone in the west wont be as high this year.

I honestly forgot the Clippers were playing last night  :smh: I watched the first half of the Warriors game then went to Broadway bar in DTLA. i just found out this morning that we lost to the Blazers

I'm still not overly concerned. Then again, I didn't watch the game so idk how we looked.
