OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2023-2024 SEASON THREAD

With that being said, I don't think we win tonight.

We're 0-11 all time against Bron Bron on the road. Yikes

:nerd: Double yikes. Didn't even know that.

Someone needs to let CP know that before the game tonight starts. He sometimes elevates his game for challenges like that.

Well that's the thing that I alluded to, against the toughest of the tough we have faired much better than the final outcomes would have Suggest. That's why to me, How we've faired against the elite is far more encouraging than we've been given credit for. It's not as simple as W's and L's against the elite 41 games into the season. The black and white approach does not tell how good the clips have been against the elite.

We only have 14 losses, of which we should of and could of beaten the Warriors twice, could have beaten SAS, and should have beaten OKC and Houston, the latter two the league ruled that we should have by all intents and purposes, been awarded victories.

Maybe it's a cup half full sort of thing, but if some calls go our way, and a few bounces go our way during those games early in the season, the outlook on this team is COMPLETELY different. Not to mention, of the top 4, we've been bitten by the injury bug more so than any other team. All of our core four has missed at least some time.

I hear you, but I guess I have more of a glass-half-empty perspective on the losses to the Warriors and Spurs. Suggests to me we still have the same closing issues we did last season, at least when it comes to other really good teams.

Luck matters. If the whistle blows our way against Houston and OKC the outlook is a tad bit different right now.

We onlyyyy have 14 losses and Blake, JJ, CP, and DJ have missed over 20 games or so combined. Or close to it.

Blake and CP have missed over 20 games combined due to injury.

This is by no means making excuses because injuries are a part of this whole NBA thing, but it's why I tend to look at our losses a bit more critically, and less of a black and white perspective, relative to the other top 3 teams in the conference. Cole Adrich, someone whom we've all would say has helped the 2nd unit tremendously, didn't even play in the two games against GSW. Neither did Pablo.

Anyway, moving on, pumped for tonight. Think we're going to lose, but our defense may give us a better chance to stay in the game and steal one here.

After one.

CP playing with an edge. Luc with some fantastic individual defense on Lebron. Hopefully that holds up

Slippage on defense in the 2nd quarter. Started getting sloppy there, bad ending to the 2nd quarter. Pierce can't guard Kevin Love.

All of this. Obviously could be worse, but don't think we can beat this team playing the line-up with PP and Luc as the forwards. We'll continued to get killed on the glass and have match-up problems on D.

Pierce isn't making three's anymore, and can't defend. This is when we should be a bit more conventional with Josh Smith.

PP really shouldn't be playing right now man having Luc out there not being a threat on offense is one thing but then having both on offense is killing us.

Then Pierce can't defend or board at all

Outside of that 5-game stretch where Pierce shot 58% from three, he's shot 31.7% from the field and 25% from deep on the season. That's bad. He's now 8-32 from his last 3. Yikes

I thought we were going to lose this game, and we did. But it's a back to back and NY won't be a cake walk. We'll win tomorrow though.

We better win tomorrow, since it is theoretically the "easiest" game we have on this trip.

Have a bad feeling about this road trip. Good thing is we did ourselves a favor the previous 11 games if we do slip up.

This is so dumb. If Doc were really going off performance then Jamal and Pierce would have been benched long before Josh and Lance. Jamal and Pierce give us NOTHING if their shots aren't falling. Josh and Lance give us effort, defense, rebounding, and the occasional great pass for an easy bucket.

Doc playing favorites. If he's really real then he'll shop Jamal and or DJ and see what they can net. Until he does that, I don't wanna see his greasy face anywhere.

*all this goes away if he manages to get a pick out of Houston

Because we didn't play him at all and now traded him, we're really gambling on this to be our back up PF.

Like last night pierce was awful and he tried to play Lance Stephenson at the 4 in the fourth against Kevin Love.

Pierce has been largely awful this season and we're going to roll with him come postseason.

Unless Doc has something else in the works, this move borders on idiotic. Giving Josh away for basically nothing to another West playoff team. Incredible.

Word is if this trade didn't happen, he would have been waived by the end of the trip

Must have been some stuff going on behind the scenes then, I guess. But frankly, I wouldn't blame Josh for being openly unhappy about his role. And I find it hard to believe there was anything going on that bad that this is going to end up being addition by subtraction.

Plus, we cant just not have a true back-up PF.
