What happened to Joe Budden?

Actually it's a good analogy. If you aren't corny, why do you care if someone else is corny or lame? You can only listen to "cool" rappers? A rapper lost a fight. How many people haven't lost a fight? You become corny for listening to someone who is?

Yo even tho Joe is a good rapper, he doesnt come off as someone you listen to when your life is going right lol. Like when i dealt with depression dude music was the truth but now i just hear it & i have no interest in it no more. Havent listened to dude since Halfway House

His personality basically started to mask his music. A better comparison would be a great NFL player always ******* up off the field. You just get tired of it

So Aldon Smith messing up off the field makes you stop liking him on the field?

That comparison isn't better.

I don't know anyone who thinks like that. I only know people who get fed up by their performance on the field or court that stop liking that player.

If I don't like something an artist does outside of music, it will effect me liking there music. Like the Meek/Drake "beef" for example, I just can't listen to Meek the same anymore. All them hard bars and he got bodied by a singing *****. The authenticity is gone, which is something I like my artists to have.

The thing I realized about him is he's brutally honest and doesn't really care what people think. I respect that. I was watching that video of him after he got washed and was thinking to myself 'why exactly is his corny?'

Is he corny for not hiding it or pretending t didn't happen? I kind of respect the honesty and comfort within ones self it takes to go on Skype and talk about getting punched in your eye for a comment you made that you probably shouldn't have. He kind of grew up in front of us because he was so eager to share every moment of his life, so obviously we saw him in some very corny situations that a lot of people find themselves in and learn from.

Long as the music is good though, all of that shouldn't really matter.

I just like the raps match up to the reality

If Drake was talking about guns that's corny he's not built like that

If he's honest why does he deny being a woman beater in interviews when he mentioned it in songs?

So you've never been a fan of any players who were continuously getting into things off field/court?The Aldon Smith example would basically prove my point, as his off the field issues got him run out of San Francisco. Thats a very easy and common way to lose fans.

I never cared.

I stopped caring about athletes and entertainers personal lives when I was a kid. I don't care about what they do or what they say, because I don't know them. Especially since they might be traded to your team.

Most people I know never liked someone from the beginning. Like Kobe or Lebron. What they do or say only reinforces it. So Ray Rice, I might think what he did was horrible, but I had no opinion of him.

In fact someones off field issues might cause people to root for them, because of how the media and fans pile on. Mike Vick got that.

And Joe's issues are that he's a flawed human. So I don't understand the hate for that. So he got hit. I could understand if he proclaimed to be 50. Hell, he doesn't even brag about the chicks he smashes. Because he could unlike a lot of these fake pimps.

One of the main things I noticed about Joe is his voice changed and his flow got more shaky along with it. It's too many newports.

Plus it's like he said **** bars. He just raps until he's done, so that can be annoying, boring and monotonous.

I think at times he concentrated too much on the "mood" and not enough at producing a good song.

Life happened to him. Being an internet star became more important, all those antics with the women in his life bit back.

Then his substance abuse problems kicked back in.

I was never the biggest fan of the Mood Muzik series but I was a fan. He was dope. I liked him with Slaughterhouse even though I knew those dudes weren't going anywhere. It was just really good music. The last good stuff I heard from him was his diss tracks where he lost to Saigon and destroyed Ransom. Haven't heard a verse from dude since but I seen a commercial and he's on some couples rehab retreat with another random female he got problems with.

I'm surprised son isn't faking the funk on one of the Love & Hip Hop shows.

I don't understand why someone being corny would have anything to do with their music.

Numerous singers have been gay, so that means you can't listen to them or it changes the quality of their music?
I agreed with your post calling out calling Budden's lyrics being called effeminate just for him exploring his feelings in music but we both know that rap is different than singing.

If you are perceived as a lame you better hide it in rap. Plus even with all the therapy in his rhymes Budden wasn't outright viewed as a corny person. The Budden tv, **** with Tahiry, etc. all exposed that and caused his downfall. If you want to be the awkward loser publicly your music better match it as well as your image.

I mean Charles Hamilton should've been the best example for how it can all fall apart for Joe Budden.

Why you gon do this to me OP? I made a thread for his new album

.

I think he's making music that is relevant to himself and others. He's been a guy that wasn't with making fruitless, commercial music. Sure his Mood Muzik series display his lyricism, but I think he has reached a comfortable style, making personal, powerful music that others can relate to.

Tahiry and Kailyn both said he never laid hands on them. It would make sense for him to hit a girl he's in a serious long term relationship with and not someone he's dating for a month, right?

Budden's always been honest. Even when it makes him look bad or crazy. He talked about the Wu Tang thing a few weeks back and was mad honest about it. It was funny as hell. Said there was more than once incident with them and more than one guy that night. Said he doesn't claim to be a gangster or anything.

With that said, I'm hyped as hell for this new album. Will be buying it the day it drops. "No Love Lost" and "A Loose Quarter" were both pretty bad. "Some Love Lost" was a step back in the right direction.

You sure Tahiry said that? I just want you to fact check before I prove you wrong

He's a woman beater, he's proud to talk about being a drug addict but has problems admitting he hits female. He's only honest for sympathy .. that's corny.

You can post it, I don't give a ****. I've seen her say before he never hit her. If something happened since or if she lied back then and doesn't care now. That's fine too.

Fell off after pump it up

Dead srs

I don't speak for everyone in the West but I bet the percentage is small for anyone to know another song did aside from Pump It Up. He has to be more of a regional artist cause I don't know anyone that listens to dude faithfully.

he can still rap very good, but he just has way more obligations now and is more famous now then he's ever been. (Slaughterhouse,Vh1,I'll name this podcast later, shows/tours.)

I don't think rap is his #1 priority like it was when he was in the zone. But I'm not mad at him, got enough freestyles and songs to last a lifetime
