Is Kendrick Lamar this Generations NAS?

Who would of thought it would be another NAS, the GOD MC.  In this generation of rappers, he seems as if he is on a different level than the rest. His wordplay, flow, and lyrical content is exceptional. One thing about it is you are hearing comparisons between the two. So even though he is not better than NAS or  had not made an Illmatic. (nobody has yet), he is a great rapper and he separates himself from the pack.
 
He's a better artist than NaS.

Not sure if there will EVER be a better MC than NaS, but Kendrick may be the closest one.
 
No. This generation's Nas can't come from Cali.

The prophecy says he will show himself on December 11th, 2015. We just have to wait.

Hell yea yo. Son is about to change the whole landscape of rap when he drops. A lot of careers is gonna end. The anticipation worldwide is crazy. There hasn't been buzz like this for an album since WTT. It's crazy. #BWA #idgt
 
Yes.

Although I see Cole/Nas comparisons often (which makes sense to a degree), I think from a technical rapping standpoint though, Kendrick is the better comparison.

And subject matter wise Kendrick/Nas is accurate. You listen to Illmatic and GKMC it's like they're telling the same stories just on different coast's.
 
I think Illmatic and GKMC are a good comparison album wise, but as straight up artists, Nas and Kendrick don't really have anything in common at all.
 
I think Kendrick is a derivative of his influences, and naturally so. I think he has the social empathy of Pac, though nowhere near the same level of passion to catapult himself as a change agent. I also believe he possesses a semblance of Nas's introspection, though his catalog isn't extensive enough to warrant a place on the same barometer. You also see a modicum of anger and resistance to authority ala Em when he switches his cadence and distorts his voice, though this happens sparingly. But when I look at his work as a whole I don't see any accurate comparisons for his artistry. He has managed to remain unique, though visibly influenced.

I agree with this assessment and I think this is what makes Kendrick great as an artist.
 
I can't see any other artist compared to Kendrick, or nas, or biggie, or jay, or EM, or pun.

Reason being they made their own style. So it's hard to compare.

And although Cole raps with influence from a lot of the greats, the only person I can see him being compared to is Joe budden
