I was at the game last night and it was pretty cool seeing the crowd chant for Kobe.

Even more cool was Kobe acknowledging the crowd.

Got to see the washed Mamba one last time live :smokin :frown:

Here's mine:

1. Kobe IX Masterpiece, I think this shoe was perfection, from the innovation with the use of flyknit for the 1st time on a basketball to the actual colors on the knit, and it being the only true high top in the line, these are my grails.

2. Kobe IV "Carpe Diem" my favorite Laker colorway on one of my top 5 models.

3. Kobe V "Big Stage" Our return to glory and Kobe proving all the nay-sayers wrong that he'd never win without Shaq. Will eventually get my hands on a pair of these

4. Kobe 1 MPLS, my very first Kobe shoe, beat em all to hell but just recently got the 1s from the FTB pack, close enough. Love the Laker blue jerseys as well.

5. Kobe 8, the entire model since I ended up getting 12 different colorways

Man I been tryna find this clip of Kobe dunking on Tim and David Robinson but I can't find it. I think it was a putback. It was like in 01 or 02.

Another favorite game is the first time we beat the heat after shaq left. When Bynum put the move on Shaq and Kobe had to break up the tussle. Lol

 I remember watching this. Bynum was feeling hisself.

No reason to be mad about. Wasn't there when we picked.

Don't worry about it.

At least he wasn't available and we passed.

Sure why not.

But Mitch seems to like the older prospects with the later picks. Or maybe it's just coincidence. Nance, Anthony Brown, Clarkson, R. Kelly, Sacre..

I don't think it's coincidence at all. Early in the draft everyone tries to land the players that have time to grow, haven't really started to scratch their surface yet, etc

Late in the 2nd, you're just tryin to find cheap contributors, ceilings don't really matter. So a guy that's 20-21-22 is more ready to help right away and has more college experience under their belts

West was similar I think with how he got the lottery kid Kobe, but then the older experienced guy late in round one with Fisher. Madsen, D George, other examples of West getting guys that were 3-4 year college players.

What do you guys think about Thon Maker in the 2nd round possibly?

Dude was being hyped up because of his mix tapes.I've read reports saying that he didn't play to well against the top high school talent in his draft class at the major invite camps like Adidas ABCD, NIKE's camp etc.

My favorite games in Kobe's career:

-Game 7 2000 WCF against the Blazers (The alley oop pass to Shaq)

-Game 6 2010 WCF @ Phoenix (Kobe drops daggers and rips zodogs heart out in Phoenix)

-

the lob - everything about that play still resonates. even the call by costas. the crowd erupting. shaqs reaction. dunleavys reaction. a great moment in laker time. i sometimes watch the video and shake my head at what shaq and kobe could of accomplished together if they could coexist as 2 alphas past the 04 season.

the dagger - kobe destroyed the suns in that game. he literally ripped the suns and their fans hearts out. filthy.

You know what, E... that WCS offer for the 3rd pick is brilliant. I would love that.

i second that.

pick (if its not #1), lou, ny for wcs

do it mitch :nerd:

You're actually remembering two separate dunks from the same game.

The dunk you want is 20 seconds in:

The dunk on Duncan is next, and the put back is around 4:50.

Such a nasty performance.[/Video]

I really disagree with how a ton of people claim if Kobe & Shaq stuck together past 2004 they would have won at least 2 or more championships.I mean look:

-Shaq by the time was already breaking down physically due to him being lazy and not taking care of himself.
-Shaq at the time was due a contract extension and was demanding to be paid $30+ million per season. That same summer in 2004 Kobe got a max contract extension. No way the Lakers could have kept both of them and build a quality team to compete for more championships at that time.Heck that season alone GP & Mailman came to the Lakers to chase rings on heavily discounted counted contracts and it cost us Robert Horry who was a big loss.
-Kobe has admitted that it came time at that point in his career where he had to be "the man" and have a team built around him because people were already comparing him to Penny Hardaway and were saying he would never win without Shaq.He sure as hell did not want his career to have that legacy. If Shaq didn't demand that trade in the summer Kobe would have been gone and most likely signed with the Clippers or Bulls.
