The way the thread has been lately, that's usually how we do when we're terrible.

Not sold on Walton.

He inherited a champsionship squad in GSW earlier this season, they easily have the best camaraderie in the league....Luke was just maintaining that, his tenure as head coach earlier this year isn't an accurate assessment of him as a head coach going forward in my opinion. Its not like he is tested or proven.

New/younger coaches dont seem to be having alot of success in the L recently, especially someone like luke who is only a few years removed from being a player....players will still look at him more of a peer than a leader by fire.

A NBA team already has a bunch of grown *** men, I think we need an older, authoritative figure who is a proven winner.....a guy like karl, sloan or JVG. A mans man, not a young man trying ot prove himself in the league.

We trying to get back to the playoffs, experimenting is over.

Luke is an experiment.

No

P, Mamba, can I get clarification on

DeRozan 20 mil booooooooooooo

Bazemore 18 mil yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

?

Feel like there's a joke I'm not being let in on. If it was DD 20 and Baze 8, OK, but 2 mil difference, and we'd prefer the lesser player? Huh?

It won't be a 2 million difference, Derozan will command the max. And Bazemore actually plays defense.

Bazemore likely does too

20-18= 2.

Derozan's max is 25 million not 20.

I doubt Bazemore gets 18 but even so that's 7 mil difference, at least another rotation player, with you getting a guy whose adequate enough on offense and much better on defense.

The team itself is far from developed. There's a lot of "experimenting" ahead.

Jerry Sloan is suffering from advanced Parkinson's and Lewy dementia, by the way.

And you're smoking some serious water you think anybody is giving up 5 mil a year and 20 million over the course of a4yr deal in his prime to be on a team that may be able to get someone else but is still far away from being a contender. Bron, Wade, and Bosh took miniscule paycuts by comparison.

We got an "established" coach when we went after Rudy t...then Mike brown ...then MDA...then Scott

It's now time to go the Celtics route and get a young. energetic coach that will TEACH our young players. We are very far from contending so be patient. Thus let us experiment

Ettore all the way for me. I think he would honestly be the perfect fit. Doesn't hurt he's familiar with everyone here already.
I like the idea of Luke but I love the reality of Messina. He's crazy forward thinking. Built on great team offensive and defensive principles. He's a coaching legend already. And he's been under Pop so that's never a bad thing. Also he's a great teacher in that he keeps his players responsible and don't take no slack. I think he would be good for the young guys and for veterans as a matter of fact.

But what's just as important as the head coach is his coaching staff. I hope whatever coach we choose brings a great coaching staff with him.

As well as a new and improved medical staff now that Vitti is gone.

Luke or Ollie or Messina will all be drastic upgrades from Byron "man up" Scott

Luke knows what it takes to win both as a player and a coach in today's NBA
He's learned from Lute Olson, PJ and Kerr (who learned from PJ and Pop)

Ollie won a chip in college, albeit with Calhoun's recruits. But nonetheless proved he can win and teach

Messina is internationally regarded as a great basketball mind, and hired by Pop after his Laker stint

Per Sam Amick JVG is intrigued by the Laker job and LA has reached out to him.

If he wants the Thibs deal though? pass.
