I don't think the terms of the FO deadline are as strict as people seem to think they are. As long as the team shows progress, Mitch and Jim should be safe.

Exactly.

The "window" shouldn't dictate WCF or bust next year. It should be simply, is Randle, Clarkson, DLo, Nance, Top 3, #32, and 60 mil in cash moving forward?

Are they IN POSITION to compete very soon? If the answer to that is yes, then Jim and Mitch need to stay in place to complete their vision of the team.

Byron deserves to rep the team at the lotto. This is like when your RB busts out for a 70 yard drive and then they hand it off to the fullback for the goal line plunge.

It will probably be Jeanie tho. Hot chicks do well in this setting. Is maggio available?

Warrick Dunn's career got robbed by Mike Alstott

I, for one, am definitely interested in what teams would be interested in the pick and what they are willing to give.

Even if it's #1...

Mitch will do his homework, he hasn't let us down when it comes to the draft so he has my full confidence.

I'm with cleansneaks.

I'd at least listen, absolutely.

I already know the response, but there's no one coming out that a team just HAS to have.

"What?! Have you seen _________?!"

Yes.

There are no franchise pieces. There is no KAT.

Colin is a blowhard, but I honestly could absolutely see that happening. The deadline is real, 2nd round at minimum or Jim and Mitch are getting their pink slips. I'd rather give up D'Lo than Ben/Ingram though if they're going that route, but I understand he doesn't have as much value.

I disagree with you ska. Ben is def a franchise piece, and Ingram is right there as well.

The question is who would give up their superstar for the #1 pick.
I can't see it. Would make no sense.
I think the Kings would do it. It'd take another piece though.

Clippers trade Blake for a younger version?

Options are limited somewhat for sure.

So you'd trade the #1 pick Ben Simmons for head case DMC or weak hearted Blake??
I wouldn't do it, I could see the Lakers doing it though, if what Colin says has any validity.

I'd trade D'Lo though, b/c I think Simmons and Ingram are better prospects long term.

And it'd likely take another prospect (Randle/Nance) and a couple second rounders to get them to seriously consider. But I think I said a few months ago I wouldn't be surprised if the core isn't given a chance to develop.

(I meant Goran Dragic.)

(Already have DLo.)

(I actually meant Whiteside.)
