So Whiteside is going to listen to a Mac deal to play with Kent Bazemore.

But nope he won't listen to a max deal with DeMar DeRozan.

Let's just pay Bazemore and Ezeli over $30mil a year for the next 4 seasons. Because that's a good plan.

And we can talk about empty stats and salivate on trading everything for DeMarcus Cousins.
I'm not saying they'll listen to anything in regards to playing with someone else. That's why I asked CP do any of these guys have some kind of connection to each other that hasn't been reported. They'll all have to be approached independently with no regard to what may happen with someone else, unless said connection is present.

I don't believe it will cost 110.

They do.
Why not? A 26 year old all star that's top 20 in PER and just put up 23/4/4 will take 20 million less than he's worth for what reason exactly? Same with Batum and Whiteside to specifically come to a worse situation than they're at now.

I mean LeBron, Wade, and Bosh took haircuts that amounted in totality to maybe half a million-1 dollars a piece, Wade maybe a little more over 4 years. But you got dudes lined up to make the biggest payday they'll ever see in a time where the cap will explode in a way it's never done before and they'll each take significant paycuts in their primes to come to a team that MAY be a contender by the end of the decade if everything clicks with the youth. You like to call everybody else's takes clown takes, well this thinking definitely qualifies as one.

Offering less than the max would be a great way to insult him and get him listening to other teams.

Pitch it right.

Demar, take 110 and stay in Toronto. Or New York. Tough to win like that. Who can they bring in to help you?

But....

What if you, and NIC, and Hasan all come here together, right now? And as these kids grow, we can pay them over the cap to keep you all together.

Can't do somethin like that in Toronto, or NY. They don't have enough talent stashed, or enough cap to take all 3 of you if you take just a lil less.

I don't know where giving up 20-24 million dollars is "little" when you have no guarantee that those other guys are going to come and take less as well, but if that's your hope cool. Just know it's not grounded in any kind of reality.

Bless your heart CP.

I get what CP is saying, but the only precedent for guys taking less to play together is the Heatles.

This isn't a comparable situation. Pretty sure these guys want every penny.

Which is fine because I really don't think you need all 3, especially if you keep the pick.

Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson excited for fresh start under Luke Walton

http://espn.go.com/blog/los-angeles...son-excited-for-fresh-start-under-luke-walton

According to NBA officials, who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter, two candidates to be on Walton's staff are ex-Laker Brian Shaw, a former head coach in Denver, and J.B. Bickerstaff, who coached the Houston Rockets this season after Kevin McHale was fired.

Mitch Kupchak says he got a laugh out of the rumors that they will trade their 1st rd pick: "That's not how I operate." (via @ESPNLA710)

I interpret this quote as...

"Look it may or may not be available but the last thing I'm going to do is tell YOU PEOPLE that it is/isn't"

AKA he's answering phone calls for the pick

*shrugs*

I don't take seriously anything any celebrity says in interviews.

I believe what I see.

When we have selected a player at our given draft position, I'll believe that he's not going to trade the pick.
