Real question... what would be the point of drafting simmons when we have Julius already (who has proven already he can be a double double guy in this league)

Reading Simmons weaknesses & strengths is like reading Randle's, except Simmons is an inch taller and a better passer. I also understand he just got eliminated and destroyed in an important game so the Hot takes are out.. however the hot takes were also out when guys were saying Lebron potential  . So i'm gonna say the truth is somewhere in the middle.

But something about adding a ball dominant, transition player, who is average on defense .. while we already have THREE of those guys on roster seems a lil ridiculous to me. I personally wish we could have picked up a guy like WCS from sacramento.

The prospect that the Lakers really need is Skal, but he didn't do enough this season (so far) and he's sooooo far away.

Simmons > Randle ...

I wonder who would be offered for the 1st or 2nd pick from the other teams... especially if Ben Simmons falls to the Lakers at 2.

Would the Wolves give up some pieces to pair Towns with Simmons? Celtics package to move up? Bucks give up Jabari for Simmons? Would the Nuggets give up Jokic and their pick? Jazz have a package?

Not saying any of this teams should/would but I love to hear after the draft what was floated out their as far as offers.

It's easy to say he's better than Randle... however why and how did you come to that conclusion ? i'm really trying to figure out what about this kid has people thinking that he's some franchise changing star?

Him and randle have very similar games, Simmons is just a better passer & maybe a lil quicker

Ill take Cousins as well

Potential. That's what you ultimately draft for.

Ben's basketball IQ,passing ability, handle, and his ability to finish around the rim with BOTH HANDS will always be greater than Julius Randle

I said this in the draft thread but Ben handles and finishes so well with both hands (i.e. John Wall in HS/College) you can't tell what hand he is.

Ben could be a 6'11 Grant Hill at his ceiling IMO. Grant couldn't shoot a lick either coming out of Duke and was so dangerous in transition.

I do see Ben as a 4 BTW

I am thrilled to witness Laker fans calling Ben and Ingram busts during summer league in a few months.

Absolutely can not wait to read that ****.

Your "analytics" team will look smart if you're team is making 3's.

They'll look horrible if your team isn't.

It's as simple as that, IMO.

That is fine until you realize that all his skills are negated based off the talent you would be surrounding him with, Him & D'angelo already balled together and it hampered him then.

Now if you want to talk FIT, check the tapes, I've been Ingram all day twice on Sunday as far as FIT.

You were talking about Simmons against Randle. To me there is no debate that Ben is better than Julius in almost every way.

D'lo and Ben could be deadly in a Steph/Draymond P/R way if we got shooters around them. Thats why Jordan's 3pt prowess is sooooooooo welcome

I can't stand when Byron responds to a question by saying "I honestly don't know, if I knew I would fix it"

they asked him why we got out to a poor start in the first quarter, and that was his response.

Like seriously you idiot? You really don't know why?

any observer can see it was turnovers, transition defense and lack of energy. Why can't you just say that?

I hate this coach so much.

Julius game reminds me of David Lee, an empty double-double machine. I'm hopeful he can expand his game and improve especially on the defensive end for our sake.
