Im in the "start russell" crowd in a developmental/transitionary period...if he fails..then maybe u revisit the rotation..if you dont hand him the keys to the Honda from the start...then why reach on him at 2 and not draft a position of need(okafor/stanley/winslow/anderson...yes i know...not at 2 but via trade down)..otherwise just start clarkson at point and draft someone else..let him learn on the job and worse case...distribute mins accordingly(30/18) with huertas or any combination of d.lo/huertas/lou/clarkson.

I don't care about Okafor, but I'll be comparing DLO to Mudiay in the coming years

Mudiay looks like a stud right now

Does he really? I honestly haven't seen him

Emmanuel Mudiay (hamstring) did not practice on Saturday.
It's not serious and he is still in line to start on Wednesday night. Mudiay did not have an encouraging preseason on the stat sheet, averaging 15.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.2 treys and a whopping 4.8 turnovers on 37.0 percent from the field. in 29.1 minutes.

4. D’Angelo Russell (Final Big: 2nd, Drafted: 2nd)

This may feel like an overreaction to pre-season and summer league, but the only reason Russell ever rated ahead of Stanley is because of a not large 35 game NCAA sample. Stanley was the #3 RSCI recruit vs. Russell’s #16, and statistically the two weren’t THAT far apart. They both had questionable athleticism and questionable splits vs. good defenses, and after summer league and pre-season Russell’s concerns are much more glaring.

After a dismal summer league where Russell posted 16 assists vs 26 turnovers, he cut the turnovers in the pre-season but offered little outside of a few mid-range jumpers made off the dribble and an 11 assist game vs. Maccabi Haifa. And it’s not encouraging that he landed with one of the worst coaches surrounded by chuckers in the backcourt, which is a terrible scenario for his development. This is not enough to cast aside his excellent skill level and vision, but my optimism is tempered.
9. Emmanuel Mudiay (Final Big: 5th, Drafted: 7th)

A number of intelligent people think highly of Mudiay, as he has great tools and legitimate PG skills. But he still has a long road to go to become a good NBA player, and it starts with his shooting. Combining SL, PS, China, and high school all-star games he has shot 28% (22/79) from 3 and 58% (55/95) FT. It’s hard to project his shot confidently from a mish mash of small samples, but it looks bad.

There’s a short list of PG’s since 2000 who have been successful with a FT%

Good read on Mudiay. Crazy how I keep seeing this hype for oak and muddy but I watched oak struggle and outside ppg Mudiay's #s aren't impressive at all.

I'm unreasonably optimistic this year......But I think we get around 40 wins this year. Hibbert was a very very solid pick up. Go lakeshow

Many fans were deriding the laker front office for lack of assets while going nuts for organizations like boston and philly for their approach to team building and stacking picks. Meanwhile the lakers acquired an all star caliber center for a 2nd rounder, a 1st team all rookie guard when they didn't even have a pick, a rotation big off the waiver wire, a serviceable backup guard from thin air, and now damn near the whole team is under 24.

Los Angeles Lakers: The Lakers probably deserve to be in the above category. Over the past few years, they lavished Kobe Bryant with an absurd extension; lost Howard and Pau Gasol for nothing; squabbled publicly on the precise timeline by which Jim Buss might step down; cycled through four coaches of wildly varying philosophies; botched their meeting with Aldridge; mounted an embarrassing public relations campaign to prove they have an analytics department; and signed Jordan Clarkson to only a two-year contract when they had the muscle and cap flexibility to push for a longer deal.

But Clarkson was a great pick at no. 46 and he’ll be a restricted free agent this summer with a tiny cap hold (And subject to the Gilbert Arenas rule, which will deflate the sorts of offers he can get.) Julius Randle looks feisty, and league observers generally applauded L.A. for taking D’Angelo Russell at no. 2. Keep an eye on Larry Nance Jr. A Lakers team with blue-chip youngsters and mega cap room is a dangerous animal. The Lakers, somehow, might be on a path to somewhere. They are like the lost camper who wanders blindly through the forest, accidentally drops a cigarette, burns the whole forest down, and sees their destination twinkling in the distance.

Or maybe it’s just a mirage.

"I love the way Ryan played the whole preseason," Scott said after practice on Monday. "I think he had one bad game and that was the second game against Utah.

"Other than that, he was aggressive, made shots, was blocking shots. He did a lot of good things for us on both ends."

:rolleyes

Lmao bro. Dlo is that dude. fam shoots his shot and gives no dambs. No pun intended. He learned from the goat :smokin

It's a nice pipedream, but I don't see Westbrook and/or Durant happening.

As for Barnes, he works well off others (hello Randle, Clarkson and Russell). If all he has to do is finish plays and defend, then he'll be fine. It's when he's asked to create that problems arise.

Barnes a Nice pickup but i dont see him ever being a first or Second option on a Championship team.. He is talented as hell, and has the ability 2 do so, but that just seems to be out of his Comfort zone.. He jus one of them gel players (that i wouldnt mind having) lol..

Who was the last rfa to switch teams?

Brace yourselves for batum

I don't think any (notable) RFAs switched teams this past summer, so dating back to last summer Parsons?
