Minny has two transcendent #1's.
Philly has Noel/Okafor and likely 2 top 5 picks comin.
Boston has every first round pick the next half dozen years. (Approximate) and already a playoff team.

We have no future assets outside of cap space.

That's the difference in the 4 teams. We pull Durant, yeah, great, we have somethin.

We miss....and no future picks for a while worth havin....man. Could get long into this rebuild.

I remember somebody wise saying that we could be on the fast track to not even being competitive until 2019/2020. Not looking so far fetched now. They must hit on somebody big these next two summers.

This is my stance :it's not even about pullingq kd or future assets, it's about letting this team develop and having enough cap room to fill out the roster.

That's a long term plan, that will cost jobs. (Jim, maybe Mitch)

I want them to develop too, and def want space to absord assets, but it could be a LONG haul.

There's plenty of things I disagree with you CP in the last page.

But the biggest one is the TWolves had a plan. Trading Kevin Love wasn't a plan, they were forced to. Which is different than Dwight. There was a slight chance he stayed come Free Agency. By the trade deadline, it was at worst 50/50. So that's where losing him happens, it wasn't clear that you were losing him until you didn't have him under contract anymore / you could no longer trade him. Kevin Love told them he's leaving. He didn't say I'd like to stay. He said trade me or I'm leaving in Free Agency. That's being forced to make a decision as opposed to having a chance.

Getting KAT is a happy accent just like us getting Julius should be considered a happy accident. No way that anybody should believe Wolves were trying to tank. They got riddled with injuries and stunk. But make no mistake they were doing exactly what we did the year before Julius.

Add to the fact that they traded a really good young player in Thad Young (no pun) for KG for a feel good story.

And in the end, they really are in no better position than we are. Even with 2 transcendent guys.

I love how the only reason we're playing the freaking Wolves on opening night is to showcase the number one and number two picks

And Scott is toying with the idea of not starting Russell

excited to see this squad struggle this season. hoping the young guys stay relatively healthy as well.

1, 2, 3, Cancun.

Shout outs to the league for the opening couple weeks of the schedule. Either will be duped into thinking this team is kind of good or demoralized even further.

I don't remember saying Minny had a plan?????????

I said they have two stud #1's. I never once said plan on their behalf.

But they are in a better spot, because the ceiling of Drew/KAT is top of the charts greatness for both.

shouldve bought em way early now i'm forking 300 for 2 tickets lol

They wouldn't have taken that trade before the draft and they sure as hell ain't takin it now after seeing Russell

I think the schedule is terrible for a young team even if it's against lesser talent. It's very road heavy, which will be extremely tough for the young guys. Hope I'm wrong.

the schedule does look a bit weird between December and March, you can definitely see the alternating home and away schedules by month.

@billoram Byron Scott said he woke up at 4:30 am thinking about lineups. The conclusion: Kobe and D'Angelo will both start.
@Mike_Bresnahan Byron on D'Angelo Russell starting tonight: "I just think he's ready. He wants that spotlight." Russell will be more of a SG, Clarkson at PG

By all accounts, the Lakers top four were Towns, Russell, Okafor and Mudiay. I wonder what would have happened had the Lakers falled down to #5 and kept the pick. Justice? WCS?
