The front office can't be that dumb they here the fans screaming for Byron's head...he's gone

Adande was asked about Byron's future and notes long term it's unlikely he's around, but it could be 1 more year with him on board.

See that pisses me off. If he's not long term, and you know he's not the long term answer, then why bother still employing him.

At least with a player, you can get something for someone who isn't a long term answer. And sometimes that players value is higher at a different point of the year

You are not getting an asset for statistically the worst coach in NBA history. Or at least the coach furthest from being .500

If he's not your long term fit, you fire him the second you realize that

By the way Clarkson, Russell & Randle had extremely encouraging Exit Interviews.

Were very frank on their weaknesses, and what they need to do.

Clarkson said he's going to make sure he, Russell & Randle are all working out together throughout the summer.

Maybe they've gauged the interest of Thibs and others and they don't want to take the job with this roster as is right now. It's a pretty bad job at the moment, last thing we need is for them to fire Byron just to hire another stop gap or mediocre coach.

Link to exit interviews?

I agree. I think they just want him to finish his contract then get rid of him.

Ehhh it'd be really hard to keep a lid on something like that.

Not even the Lakers, who on many occasions can be secretive. There would be so many different moving parts that they couldn't keep it quiet.

The Lakers are pretty good at keeping stuff in house and again this crop of FAs aren't game changers outside of KD. So if you can't get the coach you want, don't fire a guy for the sake of just firing him and compound the mistake by hiring another guy that's not right for the team.

I've been preparing myself for having another year of Byron. Just gotta get through it. I mean look at the job openings already...Minnesota and Washington are better jobs and Sacramento is a wash. If I'm Thibs do I really take the Lakers job right now with the dysfunction, roster, and their perceived ability to not be able to attract players?

Whats up everyone. Just rewatched the 4th quarter and I am still in disbelief, and also depressed because my chilhood idol is gone. Usually dont post in the sports forum but figured given the circumstances I'd share. I also wanted to share a letter my brother wrote to Kobe as our family has been diehard eastcoast Laker fans since the early 80s

Has anybody seen a full version of the game available for download? Have to have that in the archives.

I found what I think is the Pre-Game Ceremony, just his points, and presser afterwards, but not full game...

Also has a tag on it...

Sigh

Anybody else see Shaq on Sportscenter talking about Jerry West coming up to him in '96 at 3am after a night out with a tear in his eye, saying he just traded for Kobe and they were gonna be the greatest duo of all time? What an absolutely dope story (if true). Can't believe the logo was THAT confident about Kobe before he even played a minute in the league.

I'm just starting to build my Kobe Game Collection.... It's really a pain to scour for decent quality early games..

Will eventually buy a huge external HD to store them all.

What I've found good enough quality of:

6/4/2000 - Game 7 Western Conference Finals vs. Blazers
5/31/2002 - Game 4 Western Conference Finals vs. Kings - Robert Horry Game
5/13/2004 - Game 5 Western Conference Semifinals @ Spurs - 0.4
12/12/2005 - Lakers @ Mavs - Kobe Gets 43. Kobe loses his dribble, almost loses it out of bounds, and takes a fadeaway 3 to take the lead with 34 seconds left.
1/17/2006 - Versus Heat. Kobe scores 37
3/16/2007 - Versus Blazers. 65 points. Ridiculous 3 that would send the game to OT. And the ridiculous corner 3 over a double team
3/18/2007 - Versus TWolves - Kobe scores 50, after 65 on the Blazers in the game before.

The Interview with Ahmad Rashad from last February

How do you find full games?
I really don't get why the NBA doesn't sell classic games

Some you can just go to youtube..

Search a specific game. Date, Teams, etc.

Set the filter for Long > 20 minutes.

Watch for a little, see if the quality is good enough.

Then convert the videos into mp4, and download it

A lot of the older games are great when the video is focused on a players face, or in a huddle. But the side camera, can be really bad.
