So what are the positives from this game?

I did like what I saw from D'Angelo. A few nice passes and he looked a little more comfortable. I expect him to look even better when he gets to play more than 5 minutes at a time and hopefully run more than one pick-and-roll per game.

But overall, they ran horrible offense... Terrible spacing, action, movement. The young guys aren't learning much from a game like this other than bad habits.

Jordan Clarkson did good attacking. Russell was good when he was aggressive, a few times guys blew assists for him. Nick Young looks good so far. Ryan Kelly is hustling into positions and it's getting him some opportunity. Roy Hibbert is doing a fine job on defense, but nobody else is and only so much he can do.

Russell made several passes that should have been buckets, but missed shots wasted them..

Clarkson is nice.

Anthony Brown getting some PT.

Really wanna see Nance out there.

Kelly played ok, does a lot of little things. Little bit better Luke Walton type game???

2nd half Russell was good. I liked what I saw there.

Team as a whole played decently in the 2nd half.

BS talking about how he's never seen a team give up 80 pts in the paint

WTF YOU EXPECT WHEN YOU GOT KELLY AND BASS AGAINST TWO SEVEN FOOTERS?????

Byron: "Sooner or later you've got to man up, it doesn't come down sometimes to X & Os, you've got guys going at you, you've got to man up."

Kobe

9-15 from 2.
4-21 from 3.

Further brings up the point.. Get him screens / P&R
1. P&R where he can get moving toward the basket. At the very least, he knows how to get a foul call.
2. P&R at the top the key to get an elbow jumper.
3. Get him a shot at the elbow off a screen.
4. Use Russell or Clarkson P&R and have Kobe in the corner, and see if they play off him.
5. Have Kobe be the roll man, or pop out for a shot after setting a screen.
6. Only shoot 3s if you have a smaller player on you. Or a big who is giving you space. Or on a P&R where the guy goes under.

No reason that you can't get Kobe points in an effective way.

It's fine if he occasionally isos in the post. But there's still far too many isos.

I'm pretty sure Kobe is still hurting from that calf or he has another injury. Probably why he is just opting for 3's. Because this is ridiculous

BS is making it extremely difficult to support him. It's as if he doesn't realize that he's a head coach.

Not gonna turn on R&R just yet. I know some of their peers are playing well out there but they all are in diff situations. Just gotta go out their and learn.

Ownership and Mitch will protect their prized #2 pick and thereby protect their own behinds because it would be a PR nightmare if he's a bust

I would bet BS doesn't last beyond this season if DLO doesn't look good in this offense
