Probably still too early to say.

Eric Pincus had some interesting tweets today. Sounds like the Lakers board was 1. Towns, 2. Russell and 3. Porzingis. Lakers also figured Okafor and Mudiay were both more ready to contribute right away, but they went with Russell for the long-term.

I liked RJ for shooting, but when I saw Nance's measurables, he's almost a carbon copy of Aaron Gordon, who was picked fourth in one of the deepest drafts in memory.

So I'm quite happy with Nance. I hope he develops into a lesser Matrix.

I feel like rj hunters are a dime a dozen. Nance is potentially a guy that could give some of these premier wing players fits

Krispy out here looking real.

Euros being pros at 13-16 y/o is sooooo noticeable.

Exactly..Mudiay gets to play thru his mistakes without consequence. Dlo is learning that if he wants to play, he CAN'T make mistakes

I'm not sure I understand why you'd have 3 players on your board when you have the #2 pick

I don't have Twitter and it's banned here but we NEED our voices heard that Byron needs to go. ALL yall need to go hard on any Laker related social media. I've wrote an email to the Lakers prob never gonna get opened but **** it I already feel better

Trade offers.
Last minute injury.
Agent issues/demands
Future prospects, trade, playin against them over time, etc.

Not only that, they had another 1st and 2nd so they have to be prepared for those as well. They probably had a big board for most if not the whole draft.

From LakerNation on FB:
Before selecting Russell with their second overall pick at the 2015 NBA Draft, the Lakers were considering Porzingis. However, head coach Byron Scott shared the Lakers thought it would take him some time to develop according to ESPN’s Baxter Holmes:

“[We] just thought it was going to take him some time [to develop],” Scott said.

While it is still early in the season, Porzingis is averaging 12.3 points and 8.3 rebounds for the Knicks. As a result, Scott acknowledged the Lakers were probably a little wrong and complimented the rookie’s play, via Holmes:

“Obviously, we were probably a little wrong about that because he’s playing pretty well right now,” Scott said.

"We didn't draft that guy because we thought it would take him some time to develop."

*drafts a guy that would CLEARLY need some time to develop*
