And it's funny you mention Embiid cause he was that guy the year before with the D'Lo like ascent.
Yes, if they stand out in more ways than those guys do.
Maybe the next Embiid emerges above Skal. (but healthy)
Maybe a better PF, or SF option emerges, and bumps Randle to a LO type role off the bench.
Hell, maybe another PG emerges, and blows the NCAA away, and makes DLo the 3rd G type swing.
Skal, Ben, Jaylen, and Ingram aren't going top 4 in the draft because of their High School work. Be real.
Okafor is surely skilled offensively, but he's just as limited defensively, and Mitch saw that. Maybe he sees Russell being a guy that CAN learn to play both sides of the ball, ala, bigger overall impact.
May I remind you you also knocked the Nance drafting, and he seems to be much better than anyone expected as well. And from the small glimpses, Anthony Brown looks decent in his own right. Randle/Clarkson do as well.
Mitch pisses me off with his trade/non trade dealings, but as a scout, he has an eye. He learned from West, he can spot a player.
If a kid makes a splash at the NCAA level this year, and moves up the draft boards, there's no doubt he can and will go earlier than you'd like, doesn't mean he's not worthy.
