Yea it was the flow of the game and that lineup was playing decent. It would have been bad coaching just to put DLo out there just to do it. The squad needed this win for pure morale purposes. Byron made the correct move for once this season. Ugh I almost threw up while typing that. :x

It's a good win for the guys, but wish Russ got some burn late.

Kobe probably sits tomorrow tho, so maybe he'll get the extra minutes there with one less body in the way.

Do you know what Nick Young did in the Final 5:43 seconds?

O FGA, 0 REB, 0 AST, 0 FTs, 0 STLS, 1 PF

Also Kobe is complaining of his back hurting again... Why? Because Byron played him all 12 minutes of the 4th.

Randle entered the game at 5:43 for Nance who was playing far better than Randle did today.

So again where you may see flow of the game, when you look closer at the actual facts of what happened, Byron is throwing **** against a wall

Anyway on a positive note..

Kobe looked better.. Got into the paint much easier.. Knew when to exploit his matchup (specifically there was a play RJax was on him, Kobe backed him down like 15 feet for an easy 2). He's been starting to piece things together, whether it's passing, screening, playing off-ball. The final thing is just tighten up his shot selection a bit from 3 (tonight was fine) and from the post, and he'll look like a serviceable starter, with the occasional sad Old Man performance.

Hibbert did a solid job of protecting the paint.. There's a large correlation of points in paint when he's on & off. Also leading the league in FT% for a Center.

Clarkson is hitting his 3 with very good consistency.

Nance is a great energy guy. Does a lot of things well.

Nick Young is actually fitting in well with this guys.

I do agree that Byron is throwing crap against the wall. Trust me I whole-heartedly agree.
But under the context of this game it was the right move in my eyes. Now whether he did it on purpose or not is another story.
Sometimes its not about what you do basketball is all about rhythm and feel, and when you start subbing when the flow is going it can mess that up.

Now don't get me wrong I always want DLo playing in the 4h but the lineup out there at the time was clicking, they increased the lead and held it. It was the right move period.

Hibbert is actually a decent big when he is motivated and feels needed. Its surprising cuz I hated the mans guts in Indy.

Young was playing defense, something Russell (according to Byron) isn't playing as well.

We harp about how bad our defense is and then we want us to substitute for Russell when Young is playing well.

I don't get it.

Russell has a whole year to get playing time, with Kobe out tomorrow i'm sure he plays more. Let's just enjoy this win, one of probably not that many to come this season

Byron's last 5 teams have been ranked 25th or worse in defense. And going into tonight this team was ranked 27th.

Russell has played good series and even good games of defense, and has been far better than he should be based on his rep.

But yeah let's take Byron's word for it. When he plays Bass at the 5 and Lou Williams more than Russell. Or let's Kobe play when he stinks it up on defense or makes a mistake or doesn't get back.

Because defense matters to Byron.

Byron is a condescending and contradicting *******, and there's not a single writer besides Eric Pincus who understands what the hell he is doing.

Who else is pleasantly surprised by Swaggy's P(lay)?

Kobe is also getting into the flow and his legs back gradually it seems. Maybe by the end of the season he'll be in-rhythm. LOL

D'lo looked much more aggressive with Kobe out too the other night.

Team looked good overall no doubt tonight.

I love julius randle. His ability to go high speed, kick the drop off pass and avoid the charge is art.
