Byron on players being tired: "I keep hearing about this back-to-back, that’s a bunch of crap...it’s basketball you come ready to play."

Kobe had trouble walking to his car last night. And got to sit today.

But not even a single player came out and said they were tired but Kobe. He preemptively came out and said it.

Really? We're going to rely on Byron to tell us who's bringing the right energy into a game? I wouldn't trust that ****er to tell me how to get from the 405 to Santa Monica.

Except we can all see it with our own eyes and it's reflected in his play.

Is that what we're all seeing? Or is that what you want to see and you're cherry picking people to support your view?

Nah I'm not, plenty of posters in here have made the same observations, analysts, reporters, coaches have as well. Passion, energy, fire whatever it's all been said.

at KP the god not being any better than dlo

Man I like seeing this play not because of the pass but because of the fact that I haven't seen him run that fast all damn year

Good to know he does have some burst even though he NEVER uses it. I mean I know he's a calm and cool player but he needs to be more aggressive and definitely needs to attack the hoop more often to open the rest of the game up for him. His offense is just too predictable right now and Byron Scott's terrible coaching obviously ain't helping the kid make the transition to the league. Still early though I believe he will turn it around but its going to take time for sure.

This little span of aggressiveness from Dlo at the end is all the more frustrating, as if he realized Oh **** it's almost over need to put some buckets up to calm the he's a bust talk. Or maybe Booker came on and right away nailed a 3? Whatever the case, I can live with his physical shortcoming, but not his lack of aggression.

Jamison and Worthy echoed everything we've been saying on here about DLO, the passion, the attitude, the effort, the hustle, and how it should all already be instilled in you as the #2 pick regardless of age and experience

There's no way everyone from coaches to management to ownership IS NOT concerned about Russell

Listening to quotes from Worthy, Scott & Magic are all the same. Just pointless drivel.

Same guys who would bash Mike D'Antoni until the cows came home won't say a god damn word about the same things Byron is doing because their friend is coaching.

Worthy literally said Byron Scott doesn't call the plays.

That's not true. But if it was, what does that say about how stupid Byron is as a head coach.

On another note.

But yeah Russell doesn't deserve his minutes. And before you comment. This isn't the first game this has happened with those Off & Def rating numbers and the starting group barely plays together.

If you're worried about Russell, you're being foolish.

The passion, the energy, the effort........

He's 19. He wants to eat cereal and play video games man.

These make believe things people are cryin about are stupid. Not everyone is KG or Kobe.

Pau, Bynum, LO were cool, laid back dudes, and they got it done.

He has plenty of time to display "passion", right now he's a sponge, learnin anything he can.

Clarkson ain't out there throwin passionate fits, or screamin or barkin, he just plays. He just works. He and DLo will grow and work together and eventually start to ramp up their intensity over time.

Bottom line, keep the kid healthy, let him get 80 games at 19. It's already more than we got for Randle last year, so settle down on the judgements. House money compared to last year's pick.

From players themselves, they say Dlo is a gym rat and he loves the game. Honestly, he just looks tentative at the nba level and the game is moving too fast for him so he is overcompensating by taking it slow, not trying to rush. Really don't get how you measure something like "passion". He needs time to develop his strength and skills. He needs to learn the small nuances that will turn him from average to great. The lakers are the worst situation for him to start out in his career right now in terms of personnel from players to head coach as well. It really falls on everyone

Congrats!

We're looking at a possible 3-17 or 4-16 record in our first 20 games...... Schedule is getting tougher

When will this damn coach be fired? This season should be about development, this jabroni is starting MWP and giving Lou major run while JC and DLO should be playing at least 36 minutes

I think 36 may be too much for DLo at this point.. But a solid and consistent 30 is all I truly ask. Because 24 is not enough. Clarkson is getting 30, probably should get a few more, but I'm fine with it being 30 for Clarkson.

MWP has deserved some time to play. Less time, but some time to play. I don't think he's really hurting anybody but Anthony Brown, but he should be in the DLeague anyway. Even without MWP, Anthony Brown would barely play behind Kobe & Swaggy anyway. He's a guy that should be in the DLeague, and playing most of the year out there. Rather than sitting the bench and getting 3 minutes of garbage time once every few games.

The biggest problems about minutes are Lou Williams, Bass & Huertas

- We have a backup PG in our Starting SG Clarkson. No reason you can't get 20 minutes together with DLo & Clarkson. 10 minutes where DLo runs the 2nd unit, no Clarkson. 10 minutes where Clarkson runs the 2nd unit, no Russell. And then cut Huertas down from 12.9mpg to 6-8mpg.

-Nick Young is only getting 20 mpg, there's no reason Lou Williams should be getting more minutes than him. From an offensive or defensive perspective. It isn't hard to argue that Nick Young has been our 3rd best player this year behind Hibbert & Clarkson. So cut Lou down from 25 to 21mpg.

So the guard rotation looks like this
PG: Russell (30) / Clarkson (10-12) / Huertas (6-8 )
SG: Clarkson (18-20) / Lou Will (21) / Swaggy (7-8 )

Minutes for Clarkson, Lou Will go up when Kobe is out. Swaggy moves exclusively to the 3 on those days and splits the minutes with MWP.

Bass, should get maybe 8-10 minutes per game. I'd be fine with 20 if it was at PF, and Nance wasn't ready to at least contribute. But neither of those things are true.

Black should be getting 15 minutes at Center because he can actually play Center & He would work well with Clarkson & Russell because he's a solid roll man.

And there's plenty that have said otherwise. You, among other fans, are suffering from confirmation bias. You see what you want to see, with no objectivity whatsoever.
