Dude, you're bout as bright as a burnt out light bulb.

"Can't get by his guy"

"Done it a handful of times"

Dude.

Dude.

Dude.

Damn man it's like you only read what you want to read to show your point. And than try to prove everyone you are right.

I said a handful of times.

I said he hasn't done it in summer league. Hasn't done it in preseason. Hasn't done it during the season. But a handful of times. Over like 80 games. You knew exactly what I meant.

Game by game how many times does Russell get by his defender without a ball screen and create for himself or create for others ? I'll wait.

He's beat his man off the dribble 5-10 times over 80 games of playing since the summer. That I can remember since I've watched him since the summer play.

Once again I would love for him to pan out and develop into something special in the next few years. And once again I wish he would look like he is hustling during games.

It was also a knock on him coming out of the draft. His ability to get by guys off the dribble.

But whatever fits your argument.

Oh you are not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree.

Got one more for you:

Not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Dude.

Dude.

Dude.

just stop dude. That's what you will say next.

Are you suggesting that someone can't become quicker?
this is 100% true, I use it to justify never doing cardio

Some dude that saw greatness out of Bynum's 7 minutes a game and knew he'd be great off of Andrew's knowledge of the game. :smokin

Putting words in my mouth again.

I said I saw flashes that I liked of Andrew Bynum. He had a good understanding of the game and I liked his footwork.

Never ever ever ever said that I knew he would be great.

And in 7 minutes I can watch a player and say he understands positioning and I can also say he has decent footwork around the basket when he catches the ball.

But I never said he would be a star.

But whatever fits your argument.

Once again you are taking 1 sentence out of everything I said in regards to Russell and Randle to try and make someone look stupid.

Because you can't be wrong.

It's oh god.
Please stop dude.

I also said Kobe could beat his man off the dribble when he was that age. And so could may other rookies.

No comment on that though.

No comment on Russell going through the motions or playing nonchalant.

Just keep bringing up the same drivel. I can use that word too.

The lights on but no one's home.

Dude

Without stirring off topic again.

Can someone please answer me.

Why does Russell struggle to get by his guy off the dribble without a ball screen?

Why does he play so nonchalant in his rookie year of the NBA ?

Disclaimer: once again I hope he pans out. **** I hope he becomes a 10 time all star and leads to lakers to championships. That's what we all want. I don't see it. But I would be more than happy to be wrong if he does pan out.

We're only talking about RIGHT now? Are you sure?

I get what you are saying. That didn't sound right. So got me.

But I really meant in regards to Russell game right now he can't beat people off the dribble, lacks speed and quickness to do so.

And right now he is nonchalant towards his approach to the game.

Out of all the players it just baffles me to watch a number 2 pick play with this kind of effort.

I get it Byron sucks. He's terrible. I definetely agree with that.

But if Russell wants to be great. The coach won't matter.

So we'll see in the future. Tired of talking about it for tonight.

Let's see how he plays in the next game and rest of the season.

And hopefully he has a great summer and works hard on his flaws.

You can all dissect everything I've said and twist it however you want.

Bottom line I want Russell to be as good as he can be. I want him to work on those flaws. If he's a role player in the future cool. If he's an all star cool. If we trade him Bc he doesn't pan out and get another new piece. That's cool too. Whatever helps the lakers be successful instead of this garbage that's on tv.

I don't want to hear all these stories about how much work he puts off the court and this great work ethic he has. If he doesn't play hard during the game.

But when it's game time and the lights are bright he's nonchalant and jogging around. It pissed me off.

Doesn't matter the coach. You aren't proven. Number 2 pick. But not proven.

Play every game like its your last. More effort.

Yea bynum was trash his rookie year. Didn't understand the game at all. Occasionally flashed potential as a shot blocker. Mechanical, no feel for the game whatsoever. After about a year and a half of garbage he got to a point where he was consistently getting better every single game and it was fun to watch. Harden was also trash. KD took a lot of shots and hardly made any. "Westbrick" couldn't shoot for **** for years and is still below average from distance.

A guy like randle if you actually pay attention you will see improvement. His growth curve has been jagged but he's shown flashes. I mean he just came off a career high not two games ago and another double double last nite. I really don't know what you're looking at or expecting. There are 4 rookies trying to develop at once along with a second year guy all surrounded by spare parts so it's going to take a little longer than usual to get them all up to speed.

It's been so long since the Lakers have had a worthwhile prospect that people don't realize more often than not it takes YEARS for players to develop.

HAPPY PAU GASOL DAY!

Pau himself isn't actually in this vid but:

The trade news was shocking of course but it didn't hit me till I sat down to watch this game. And then Kobe came out dunking all over the place like he couldn't contain his excitement. :smokin

Pretty damn frustrating people don't grasp that simple fact.

Lookin forward to next January.

"Brandon Ingram can't dribble"
"Brandon Ingram can't shoot"
"Brandon Ingram can't defend"
"Brandon Ingram has no passion"
"Brandon Ingram has no hustle"
"Brandon Ingram sucks cuz Duke"

Dude.

*ben Simmons is a bust*
*cant shoot*
*too many turnovers*

If the draft pick fell to #3 and were guaranteed MKG could shoot corner threes, would you trade for him?

No. I'd still take #3 and run at Barnes or Batum.

If I could get Dunn at 3 and offer up Clarkson for something, I'd go that route.

HAPPY PAU GASOL DAY!

Man, I still remember when my girl told me that we got Pau for Kwame and fillers. I was all "Stop playing."

Then I saw it on ESPN and got blown away.

so many DLO apologists on here.

Come on people. He's not that good right now so far. Obviously he can get better. But trotting around the court, shooting a mid range jumper, coming off a screen extra slow motion, not playing ANY defense, no hustle......this isn't what any of us wanted from a #2 pick.

Put up all his stats all you want, his PPG stats are inflated by those games where his 3-pt shot is going in. But nobody wants a slow lenky PG who shoots 3's and can't attack and create and put a defense in trouble. I was hoping he would be the relentless PG who has speed, passing and shooting ability and puts the defense on it's heels the entire game. He is so lackluster and slow motion all the time.

Yes he's young, yes he can get better.....but there are so many intangibles that don't need age or experience to manifest themselves into a game.

First it was "it's just summer league", then "it's only preseason", then "it's only been a week into his career", then "it's not even Christmas"....well it's been 50 games and we can get an idea of his talent....his raw basketball talent.....and what is that exactly - mid range jumpers, and slow motion game, maybe getting into the paint once in a while and shooting a floater......how bout attacking a big man and getting him in foul trouble, jump into the chest of the defenders, have the lust and desire to score on somebody, drive and dish, drive and kick, going hard after a rebound, diving for a ball.....how about challenging somebody who tries to score on a fast break rather than the Ole defense all the time?
