Too early to talk firesale trades? :nerd:

Never.

I'm hopin Young and or Lou can be sold, and that Bass gets the boot at some point. I'll take back nothin, 2nd rounders, protected firsts in 2037, whatever.

Would love to see the end of the year lineup look like

Kobe/Hibbert/Metta/Huertas

Randle/DLo/Clarkson

Nance, Brown, Kelly, Black

And if Sacre has to be 12, fine, but I would love an Upshaw call up at some point.

All this gets young guys tons of PT, and keeps us safely in the driver seat for a top 3 pick, God and Silver willing.

Lou Williams for Jodie Meeks

The Pistons look decent, but their bench needs more help as Meeks is out the next three or four months with a broken foot. Lou was a good signing in a vacuum, but he does not fit within the context of the team. I like Meeks back in LA as a backup for Clarkson.

Nick Young for Vince Carter

The Grizzlies are looking shaky and still need a boost in scoring. Swaggy has been good so far, hitting 42% of his threes. Carter is washed up and has another (non-guaranteed) contract next season. Maybe he'd get bought out immediately.

Edit:

Brandon Bass for Ray Felton

The Mavericks could use another semi-reliable big behind Zaza, Dirk and Powell. Bass was another good value signing by Mitch, but I don't think it'll work out. Felton would be sitting on the pine or bought out after the trade.

Guy with a broken foot, and 97 year old Vince Carter. I like the way you think. Have this rep.

I've put all my hopes in selling off parts at the trade deadline last 2 years, unfortunately we just don't do that. So I'll go ahead and say I expect nothing to happen.

Also I'll say I'll enjoy the rest of the league make a million trades while we do nothing

is there any point in the future top free agents want to come here? i mean, when kobe is gone.

top guys havent wanted to come to LA or Chicago. There's a lot to live up to. a lot of these guys really are soft af and really afraid of the lights. kobe was only a part of the problem, and I would go as far as to argue he was a small part of why free agents weren't coming.

questions iswhat will be the selling point to free agents in the future? clearly guys dont care about the movies and endorsement opps. still have byron as a coach. who are they going to make into a star? couldn't get dwight to stay. lamarcus didn't even want to listen to us. has nothing to do with kobe. everybody knows he's on his way out.

Everything depends on the development of Russell, Randle and Clarkson going forward. Even then you still need a superstar talent to take that plunge and those just don't come available that often. KD next summer, Russ/Steph/Blake (ETO) in 2017 and Boogie in 2018. We have to get somebody in here of that caliber but the situation will dictate if they're in better situations cause the money will be as good anywhere. The Laker lore is no more it's about the product on the floor and no matter how great the city is, 3-4 consecutive losing seasons is not a good look.

Honestly I think we should push hard for Horford and Barnes type this next summer and pray Clarkson or Randle take a huge leap next season.

And honestly a new regime needs to come in that would probably help out as well.

- "We're going all in w/ you. We would like you to be our next 'face'."
- ":D And Kobe's on board w/ that?"
- "Oh, year or 2, tops."
- "Wasn't the question. In that year or 2, he's ready to be second to whoever you want to be 'next'?"

*crickets heard all over the room*

After Kobe (3, 4 years, whatever):
- "We're going all in w/ you. We would like you to be our next 'face'."
- ":D"

I already know how this response is going to be received, but no one can deny the reality of the 2 hypotheticals.

Well most in here have acknowledged it's going to take D'Lo 2-3 years just to maybe get acclimated to the league. So I didn't include him. Clarkson and Randle seem much more adept to becoming near all star or all star caliber players quickly. If Russell can come along in that same time great but I'm not expecting it.

hypothetical =/= make believe

hypothetical =/= myth

In reality, that first hypothetical is happening.

In reality, that second hypothetical will happen.

Some of you don't even try.

Don't even try to discuss the actual point, don't even try to gain understanding.

Not even trying, messing it up for those that are (CP, tupac).

Sure, to a group of people interested in discussion and not nit-picking mockeries, absolutely.

So not in here.

Maybe another time, once everyone is off the pick-and-ridicule trend.

Like I'm not paying attention to how everything I'm saying is getting picked apart.

"That wood has a way of talking to your butt"  Lottery team benching Rookie franchise talent. Byron Scott is losing it.

But yet he's lot worried about Kobe

Tonight is a big test. If we lose to the Nets, 0-5, we could be in the driver's seat for a long while.

Win, and yeah, maybe temper expectations a smidge.

Just like the other young guys, that have an extra year in the league on him?

Brown and Nance haven't done jack ****, so they aren't the ones "getting it" So what the **** is this dudes problem?
