Anyone wanna take a guess on when Byron gets canned?

I think we should have a new poll

I'm down.

Gimme good options to use for the poll and I'll put it up

Well, my vote for a new poll would be "How long will it take before Byron Scott is fired"

Simple as that

 I know that

Sorry I shoulda been more specific.
Gimme options for the time frames
To put

What If it's true tho?
What if he ain't grinding with the rest of the team and he isolates himself?
What if he really isn't putting the work in? :\

I don't know. I'm just asking...

Jim will need to demonstrate balls of steel to fire Byron, I think we'll be 1-11 and he SHOULD be canned

I don't understand this exchange. What is Pincus saying exactly, that D'Angelo isn't doing enough?

Basically, Pincus is saying D'angelo isn't putting the same type of fire/passion or ethic clarkson and Randle is putting. Which is why Pincus isn't totally on the fire Byron Scott wagon.

Imo, it's on both sides. Scott is a living, inflatedhuman ego and Russ is caught up in that rookie nba life.

Pincus will shill at times. Let's keep it real. I like him, but he's willing to carry the water at times.

Anyway. Even if it is true. Id be demoralized if I don't get to play in the 4th. First it's because it was a close game, now I don't get to play because the game isn't close. I'm told I don't play because my defense is lacking, I step up my defense and I don't get to play. I'm told I make too many mistakes, but other guys make mistakes and get to play through no consequence. And after tonight's game when I ask what I can do, I don't get an answer.

So spare me all that nonsense about fire.

maybe byron is just being a nice guy, coming up with excuses rather than saying "the kid is lazy, i dont like him"

It's evident Byron does bear some kind of grudge with D'Angelo, though. There is no rational explanation for what he's doing, he would have given that by now. And frankly I think he realizes that. I'll give Byron enough credit to say that he is intentionally sitting D'Angelo for reasons he refuses to disclose with the media, rather than assume he's too stupid to realize it.

What do you guys think when you see dlo out there ? To me he plays with no passion

I see a rookie 7 games in, who has improved from game 1 to game 7. Has actually started to play well, and still gets **** on even when he does what the coach asks.

As for your passion remark. What the hell does that even mean? How do you know he has no passion. Because he doesn't show it the way you want him to? What do you want him to do, scream at other players, yell at Byron. Is that the passion you want?

Because truthfully, we don't know what his passion is. And just because you think he doesn't have passion, doesn't mean you are right.

Plain and simple, we goofed if that's true.

Now I'm not saying it is.

But we're in trouble if it's even a little true.

Not much, I see a guy who showing almost all the deficiencies everyone had him listed (slow, not being able to finish at the rim) as when he was coming out and almost none of the positives, the dead eye shooting, the vision looking a play ahead. Not all of the turnovers have been a result of others not being ready, they're been quite a few where he's just made bad decisions. I've lamented his lack of aggression ever since the first summer league game and it hasn't improved any. Clearly Byron has him on a short leash, but I also don't believe it's all stupidity. Kid clearly is taking advantage of his newly found fame status of being a Laker and if somebody is questioning his work ethic already then it's even worse than I thought.

I am hoping this is untrue because it would mean our FO got duped by some workouts and didn't due their due diligence on the other stuff, but it also wouldn't be surprising seeing how they've been missing the boat on the other stuff.

like no fire or will ...like when Kobe came in the league you could feel or see that he wanted to be great I don't get that from dlo. I want him to prove me wrong but I just don't see it in him

Agree 100%

Just cause a guy doesn't get hyped on the court or doesn't tell his teammates he's going to be the Will Smith of the NBA, doesn't mean he's lacking passion.

Maybe he'd show the type of "fire" you're looking for if he got to play at the end of close games.

Bresnahan once posted a picture of Russell practicing more after practice. He questioned where the other rookies were though. This is not a issue for me.
