I assume you are comparing Simmons fit to the Draymond role?

I just don't think his shot will be as reliable as Drays they'll go under when he has the ball and soft hedge Russell when he's the screener.

Now I would be interested to see how teams would handle a wing ball screen with Russell and Clarkson both ways. If they switch it's an auto post for Clarkson

We'd need a coach to actually think about the weapons we have.
:smh:

Yeah Byron doesn't care about any of that. Doesn't really put anybody in a position to succeed.

They said the same thing about Draymond coming out of college.

Not per say, just the roster composition right now is kind of difficult to build around. They can't really draft another ball handler if they really believe in Russell/Randle/Clarkson. Need defenders and shooters from here on out. But if they want to play with the big boys in a few years, need that versatility that a guy like Simmons can bring.

Beggars can't be choosers. Fill the roster with actual talent, and sort the pieces out after the fact.

Warriors had the Monta/Steph issue, then started a new one by signing Iggy over the top of Barnes, and it all worked out for them.

We have to have similar thought processes.

I'm not even greedy, give me the 3rd pick and I'll be thrilled. 1-2 can be had, just let us take the best leftover, I don't care at this point, we just need as much young talent as we can get.

I'm leanin the same way with Durant v 2-3 other pieces for our cap space. Would love Durant, but not sure I want another turn down after the last 3 off seasons.

Horford/Batum + Hibbert + a Top 3 pick + Randle/Clarkson/DLo/Nance/Brown/Black and a new head coach? I'd be ok with that as a start. As the young ones start to hit their 22-23-24 seasons, we will start to get back into the mix, then from there you make that trade to push you over the top, or let one guy loose, and sign another free agent. (Mamba has his eye on Russ) Etc.

*Note, I prefer Harrison Barnes for this core to Batum, but Harrison bein RFA, and in division, makes me pretty sure GSW doesn't allow that. So Batum is the next best option IMO.

No sir, what I miss?

 wait a minute, that's a nickname of someone isn't it?

Fournier? Eh. I don't know enough about him to be honest.

Having a beggars can't be choosers mentality isnt conducive to team building.
We had alot of other talented guys to choose from when we "reached" for Nance,Made moves to get Clarkson. Those guys fit nicely.

It's 2015, we can do both! Especially through the draft process which we've shown the most signs of life.

The point is we easily could not have the pick at all.

I rather have the pick, to get anybody, than no pick at all.

Beggars, can't be choosers.

I'm always conducive to team building.

Only thing about batum is that he's doing well in Charlotte but from what I've seen it's because he gets the chance to have the ball in his hands pretty often. Don't know how effective he'd be with this lineup but I wouldn't be so upset if he's the signing.

Skiles pretty much runs the offense thru fournier and unlike batum he's not a utility guy or plus defender. Wouldn't want him

I also am full aware Batum may be havin this nice start cuz it's a contract year.

But, what I want him for is not offense. I would want him as our 3 and D guy, tho not the best shooter around, but 36% for his career, 11/5/3/1/1 as a role guy isn't bad. Thing is, he'll be getting paid more than a role guy, but that's the economics of the NBA these days.

He'd basically be our new age Rick Fox if we get the off season I envision.

But, like I said, I prefer Barnes, but would settle for Batum (especially if he came with Horford)

Lakers need to invest in a time machine then go grab 2009 Shane Battier and 2011 Tyson Chandler.
