I honestly think Clarkson would give more effort defensively and be better at it if he wasn't so frustrated at having to watch Kobe Chuck the ball every time down the court.

His body language screams "why even try" to me.

I can't say I really blame him. If he's giving the same type of effort defensively when Kobe's gone then I'll really be concerned and think he Just isn't capable.
D'lo would eat if he was on the warriors
I'm believing these kinds of statements less and less.

If a dude's gonna eat, he's gonna eat.

If he sucks, it's because he sucks.

Nah this is more than a pick. You gotta get rid of Byron. Start trying to improve this roster a bit.

And pray for the best on the pick.

This is downright embarrassing. And less attractive than having another Top 3 pick to anybody in the NBA.

This offense sucks horribly. Nobody gonna eat.

I watched a possession with dribble hand off to Bass, top of the circle. Cross court, Kobe sets pick for Clarkson, who steps thru to screen for Kobe, who shuffles back to screen for Clarkson again......

Bass, top of the circle, hasn't dribbled yet.

This was an actual "set". My daughter's junior high team runs a similar set. With similiar results.

We gonna keep this pick long as Mitch and Jim stay patient and let Byron run us into the ground.

Bass still hasn't dribbled.... *shuffle, shuffle*

There is no way in hell Scott makes it through the entire season. I felt as though they'd give him at least another year, but I don't see it anymore.

There is absolutely no semblance of an offense being ran out there. And I'm convinced he uses a see and say toy to set his rotations.

He'd dribble the ball past half court and instead of having a washed up Kobe, he'd have arguably the best SG in the league, Draymond Green, Harrison Barnes, it'd be filthy.

He is a past first PG who doesn't have anyone who can shoot lights out on this team. He would absolutely flourish with other scoring threats around him. He'll eat once our front office signs some marquee free agents

What marquee free agents is the FO signing? There is no incentive for anyone worth a damn to and who wants to win to come to the Lakers. Even with Kobe retiring and a likely Top 3 pick, that isn't enough to make them a playoff team without an additional FA.

Isn't even about marquee. It's about ANYBODY.

and it isn't even about making the playoffs. It's about looking good enough to be plausible to somebody. And developing the young guys.

Hence Byron has to go and go now.

My reply was to the poster above me. Byron should have been let go at season's end, but this team clearly doesn't want to eat another failed coaching contract.

Byron stays until the tank is completed.

This roster is better than last year's team. It makes no sense that they are this bad. If this team tanks again, then they had better get Ben Simmons out of it. I don't see the hype around Labisserie.

It's not that much better relative to the competition and fits worse.

If we lose the pick fine, but he's steering us right towards the iceberg like the Titanic. Either way he should be out at the end of the season.

If we're worst record the percentages are in our favor (and I know you know this), I don't know why you keep saying that, E. At this point it's not hard to believe we'll have the worst record.

It doesn't make sense, Philly is the only team clear cut worse than us. I'll take those 60% odds or whatever it is.

I don't give a flying ****.

This is not worth it. Developing the guys we have now is more important than some maybe pick.

As it sits we have a 44.2% chance of losing the pick.

If we were a game better it'd be a coin flip right now.

This is not worth it. If we get the pick, fine. Let it be by luck. If we lose it. Whatever.

But just sheer odds are not much in our favor.
