On the Wizards. More productive than Steve "2time2timeMVPbutnoD" Nash in all this 3 years in LA
Sessions,Kobe,Metta,Pau,and Howard is an excellent lineup.

the nash trade didnt work out but there was nothing wrong with the intentions behind it

they took a chance and it didnt work out, just like the dwight trade

Losing Dwight and Pau for NOTHING kills m

but let's look at the future (crossing fingers that DLO pans out), and be positive

We have a really good young core not to mention Tarik Black who gets overlooked.

Next steps are to develop the kids, fire Scott, and sign a big FA

Here's why Sessions left:

Ramon Sessions shook his head and chuckled. He repeatedly wondered how his failed free agency bid to secure a long-term with the Lakers two years ago suddenly became cited as an example that he does not want to play with Kobe Bryant.

Sessions stressed he hardly felt upset about an ESPN The Magazine story that said he left because of Bryant’s presence. “I didn’t think nothing of it,” Sessions says. Yet, Sessions strongly disputed that Bryant played any role in his departure with the Lakers and eventually signing a multi-year deal with the former Charlotte Bobcats.

“That was never nothing I ever said,” said Sessions, who now plays with the Sacramento Kings. “I had an option to opt in or opt out. I was at a point where I wanted to get some stability. That was the only reason.”

Bottom line is he opted out and wanted to get paid which The Bobcats gave him stupid money.

The market for trading Dwight in the offseason was not there.

Teams that had cap space were not trading for him.
No team without cap space was asking for a trade for him. Nor were we getting anything great for him because no team was gutting themselves for Dwight because in that case, Dwight wouldn't go there.

If you say we should have traded him during the season. That's all hindsight. Had we stayed healthy and gotten close to a title, maybe everything changes, and he ends up staying. There were too many variables that could have gone the Lakers way by the time that deadline happened.

Pau they should have cut the cord way earlier. But by the time they wanted to, they were in a place where his market didn't equal his value. But I'm fine if you don't want to give a pass for this. Should have done it a couple years prior.

Sessions was and still is a journey man back up PG at best.

He just became a starting PG for horrible non playoff teams in his career.

And yet some dudes on this thread are still salty on why he opted out and the Lakers didn't throw him more than a MLE multi year contract

Signing a 38 year old PG with no defense, with bad back spams is a big no no. Especially with an aging kobe in the backcourt. I think they signed him for his name and past, they didn't think about what he could contribute. I expected him to be a 12 & 7 guy for us, they could've gotten that elsewhere.

Who would you have signed instead that would have made us the favorites to come out the west? Chris paul?

Phil Jackson was never a real option to coach. You don't have to believe me, but if you read around you'll see it's the truth.

Buss and I mean big dog Buss never was too fond of Phil and definitely didn't want him near the team after he passed.

And no one treated Pau badly. he was getting paid a ridiculous contract by the end of his Laker career and they still wanted him back. And then he goes to Chicago and plays basically the same way D'antoni was using him. I hate when people say D'antoni had him out at the 3 point line taking threes. He took more threes last year as a Bull.

Plus his game diminished greatly. Got to look beyond the gaudy stats.

It just dawned to me that Kobe hasn't played with an above average PG since Nick van Exel in '99. Yikes.
