I just don't see 1 benefit for KD to come here. I just don't know why he would do it. I mean I pray everyday that he does, it just makes 0 sense for him to for multiple reasons. But who knows the city and Kobe may have that big of an influence on him.

He isn't coming by himself. If he does.

It isn't like oh KD. That's all for you this offseason.

Really Lakers are the only team that offer him more than the other teams do. Just assuming him coming here means 1-2 more FAs with him. Leaving OKC for say DC, would be a why don't you just stay in OKC.

Take it for what it's worth but my coworkers best friend interned in PR with John Black and the Lakers years ago and now works in PR for OKC.

He says OKC already knows that KD will either re-sign or go to the Lakers. The OKC PR dude says it's well known within the organization and the league. My coworkers a stand up dude and I believe him. #thatsmycoworker
what does that PR dude have to say about Westbrook....about his fashion choices?

The only thing with that is we can't afford to play the waiting game which I am sure he is gonna want to do. We can't afford for him to take his little 6 city - 3 week tour with different teams, hearing all the pitches, then waiting another week for what he's gonna do. We just can't.

If we have learned anything from the last few off seasons is that players are not gonna wait to sign their contracts. So while we are waiting for him to make a decision all other FAs may sign to other teams which will throw a MAJOR wrench in plans. The message to KD has to be something to an extent of its time sensitive due to players wanting to come to LA to play with him a la Batum/Horford/Whiteside which we only can do for him, but he can't be taking his sweet time.

Wink wink, "we got Horford ready to sign and a sign-and-trade for Derozan lined up once you agree to sign with us KD"....that sorta thing

I hear you kingjaffejo kingjaffejo

BUT a lot of times all the other FAs wait until that major piece decides, because once KD makes his decision, the other teams that lost out on him are now ready to sign the others

I hear ya my man but that hasn't happened the last 2 years in FA. While we were going big fish hunting all the other fish were caught up. It will be even worse this upcoming summer due to the spike in money all teams will have. Why would player B wait to see what KD gonna do when team B is offering him max money that he know he doesnt deserve.
And all the smart teams will sign these mid tier players fast to build their rosters while everybody waiting on the big fish. That happened more times than I could count last summer.

I dont condone signing a player just to sign him. But what I also don't condone is not building a roster and keep kicking the tire year after year waiting for our lottery ticket to win one day....finally.....

Btw we can also let KD pick his coach too

I'm getting nervous thinking about the draft lottery and offseason already

Tank life is torture

I'd sell it.

KD, we just pulled the #2 pick back to back years. We have Randle, Clarkson, DLo, Ingram, Nance, Brown and Upshaw all kids growing into their games. We have 60 million dollars. You get 20+, Horford can have 20+, and you pick your 3rd, we don't even care who.

Then you can pick your coach. We'll pay him.

You saw LeBron turn 30 and jump in with both feet with Kyrie, Love, Tristan, etc.

You do that HERE, in LA, we'll make you a God. You pick your team, you pick your coach, and we'll figure out the rest as we go and get more Titles so your jersey can hang on that wall up there over the Clippers selfies. As you turn 29-30-31 and still capable of dominating, the rest of these kids will learn and grow under you and still only be 23-24-25 and developing into their powers.

Then we'll land 2 cheap vets who want to latch onto a winner and we'll go get you your ring(s)

Then Jeanie can sit on his lap.

KD you get to pick Horford/Batum/Whiteside

Then next summer we'll bring your PIC the Point Godzilla on. Oh and there's this Simmons kid to that can play quite a bit.

And you can smoke all the herbage your body can handle legally.

I'm a bit worried given how bunched up the Lakers, Nets, Suns, Pelicans and Nuggets are now. The math is still in favor of the Lakers though.

Stupid Celtics, Bucks and Suns.
