What do you do NT?? Vol. how you eating out here?

I recently applied to Dental School and received a few interview invites coming up in the next few weeks. I'm currently working at a dental office dealing with insurances. I see a lot of patients that come into the office have jobs ranging from the department of defense to working for the NFLPA.

What do you guys/girls do?

Anyone work for the department of defense or contract for the government? I always find those jobs interesting. Seems like there are a lot of those jobs in the DC area. Are they hard to get into?

Would love to hear what everyone does.

I cook.

My mom has worked for a grip of different agencies in the gov't. I could never do it in a million years. But if it's your thing check it out. The application processes alone take months. Good job security and pay though once you get up there in grade.

She started off as a contractor for the border patrol. She reviewed applications.

Naw I'm way to invested in this dentistry and I like the profession. Just cool to chop it up with those people. I was looking at the engineering thread and seen some interesting stuff too.

I try to show my younger family it's so many things out here you can do to make good money and live comfortably. Don't have to hoop or be a rapper to be successful

My dad worked for the department of defense as a "contract specialist" for 30+ years. His last job he was making 80$/hr, currently has a pension for 100k/year for doing nothing.

After he was awarded his pension, he worked for about 5 years for the private sector, while collecting his pension.

Now he is retired, but does consulting a couple times a year (teaches people how to be contract specialist).

Before his contract specialist jobs, he worked for the peace corp in the Philippines.
