I don't think it has anything to do with lingo. That 'you just don't understand' or 'you aren't hood enough' is a poor response. Some people just don't like the music.
Is 30 too old to understand Future? If I had urban dictionary open while I listened to DS2 will the music become more enjoyable to me? I honestly don't think so.
And that's not to say I'm a Hopsin fan, but acting like people who complain about the music are just too old or soft to 'get it' is just as corny as what Hopsin did with this song.

Naw. I'm not saying that. But if you have to open up Urban Dictionary to understand Future, it may not be as enjoyable for you. That's akin to somebody opening up a regular dictionary listening to Lupe. It's not understood the first time, so it may not be as enjoyable.
Take "Collosal" for example. I'm able to enjoy both the beautiful Zaytoven production and the slick lines he's throwing in there. Below, he's talking comparing himself to Goldie from the Mack. A lot of people don't know who that is, or simply aren't listening close enough to catch it..or just can't understand what he's saying.

Those lines are weak, uncreative. I comprehend it, because I'm smart. I'm intuitive. He ain't painting pictures. He says the same useless jargon, over and over. If he was so ill, why he ain't jump out 5-10 years ago? He was a po hustler. Should've put some money away, if he was so heavy in the game.

My issue is people who EXCLUSIVE listen to artist like Future (not saying it's any of you all. Sure all of us have broadened ears) when other people who may like Mos Def, Cole, Kendrick, ASA Rocky, Chief Keef, Oj the Juiceman, get criticised, or called elitist. I'm not saying Future is some technical lyricist rapper, but he really talks about some real *** in between the ignorant stuff.
Take Codeine Crazy for example. On the surface level, it looks like he's encouraging drug use etc. Dig a lil deeper, this **** is sad and using all these drugs and flash to mask the pain. He even says explicitly in the beginning, "Ain't for you Dog, that's for them other ******".
On Slave Master, this dude says:
"Put some Aquafina on another ring
I disguise pain when I make it rain
When I hit the club and I make it rain
When I pulled up, you know how I came"
When some are just listening to the song, they think he's just bragging about typical hood rich stuff. Not realizing that this lifestyle he's living is a front for the personal **** he's going thru. I can relate. Same **** as me buying a whole bunch of meaningless ****, smashing random chicks, drinking heavily to suppress some of the **** I'm going thru. I used quotation marks because most people don't use the correct meaning for lyrical. Y'all act like lyrical means who can recite the biggest and most words from out of the dictionary. If MJ and Prince were lyrical then so is Future. All 3 express their emotions in a beautiful and imaginative way. That's the literal definition of lyrical.

U gotta recite poems to touch some of these dudes. I listen to all music as long as its good by my standards. My favorite genre besides rap is 80s pop (that Pandora station so live).
As "good" as some people think hopsin is I don't see it. I tried to listen to his stuff but then again I didn't like odd future either and it seems they share a fan base. Some people just hate trap music and its understandable cuz I hate that over lyrical ****.
