Black Male Ambushed and Detained by Police Due To White Couple Feeling "Uncomfortable"

Did you read anything I typed, just say you don't understand it and keep it moving b. That's what I thought. I expected a more educated response, go back and read it slowly and grab a thesaurus for any words you didn't understand.
tbh your posts weren't as clear as usual.

running away increases the chances of a black kid getting gunned down
so explain the kids who did nothing but fit the description. cuz they're dead. and they didn't run.
doing "nothing" increases your chances at living. it doesnt guarantee it (sadly).

all you can do in life is be good at playing the odds

at the end of the day it doesnt matter what your skin color is or where in the world you are, if a cop tries to talk to you and you start running bad things will happen.

Skin color definitely matters. If you're white and run, you get tased. If you're black and run, you get shot.

realtalk..the cops only detained him then let him go too

Thank God... I assume police are making progress. Or, did he really run? I still haven't seen proof of that. :rolleyes

u act like thinking quickly = thinking logically

like in fractions of a second youre really debating in your head getting shot or cooperating with police? no

LOL @ getting shot.

Anyway, we all see what the outcome was for Jason and Co. for running from the cops. Does anyone actually think the outcome would have been WORSE if Jason and friends stayed in place and cooperated with the cops??

can we stick to the subject of this thread please?

no one died

its one thing to point out how you're more likely to be harassed by cops if you're black but you still have to make an effort to point out and hopefully educate people on how to properly interact with cops and increase your chance at survival

Why did he run?

i understand what you mean, I'm not coming at you, just speaking in general. but that's like the white go-to question. 'well...why'd he run if he had nothing to hide'

****. because he could. running isn't probable cause. police can be such **** boys sometimes. i see a cop, i can run if i want. i can also tell them to suck a ****. just depends on the vibe that day. i don't of course, these cops out here crazy. but i'm saying, I could.

if a cop walks up towards you obviously trying to talk to you and you run away would you really not expect them to chase you though?

i wouldnt consider a cop crazy if he roughs you up for randomly telling them to suck a fat one

i get where you're coming from

but there shouldn't be a guide to increasing survival when you are interacting with cops.

with lions yes, handling explosives yes, when there's a hole in the boat yes.

why can't we also hold some standards for cops to "properly interact" with citizens.

Also can someone post the footage of this kid running.?

cops don't have a right to "rough anyone up" for words unless they intend to harm self or others.

As it pertains to probable cause in the case of Jason and Co.......yes it does champ. Reason being is because he and his buddies matched the description exactly given by the complainant. Not sure if you know the true definition of probable cause or not.

just like a random street cat doesnt have a right to rough me up if i randomly insult him. but at the end of the day its my actions that caused me to get my *** beat

dont go around pushing limits because you think cops dont have a reason to rough you up, thats just asking for trouble and you're dumb as hell for acting this way

all I read from the article was the 3 gentlemen were just standing there. Then were profiled by a couple that felt uncomfortable, and then the police rolled up and the guys took off. what crime did they commit or even appear to commit? what did the police witness them do? what did anyone else witness them do besides loiter 'suspiciously'? I have no idea what their intent was, but just standing randomly isn't probable cause.

there are a lot of things that shouldnt be the case

but we live in the real world where knowing how to act can save your life while just complaining about things being unfair but not changing behaviour doesnt help you at all.

anytime a thread like this is made people will offer seemingly simple solutions that could have prevented the problem. of course it may be unfair to expect that of the victim (not in this case, running is always dumb). but if you're not getting ahead in life if you dont look at these unfair situations and think to yourself how you would act differently to create a better outcome.

running away at the sight of a cop suggests that they did something wrong and dont want to be caught imo

do you expect the cop to just let them run away?

Hmm, this requires "judgement" on the part of the police, and said judgment can be clouded by prejudices.
but but they're cops. do not question their authority!!!!!

people are people, you disrespect someone who feels like they have power over you and they will show their power

anyone who gets their *** beat for actively disrespecting a cop (or anyone for that matter) gets no sympathy from me.

the fact that you give cops a pass for "roughing someone up" due to being disrespected by words is prob one of the biggest jokes I've ever heard.

don't become a cop if you've got thin skin.

people giving passes to brutalize citizens is hilarious
