Recently, I've been thinking of taking one. My local community college offer various classes ranging from hip-hop, modern, jazz, ballroom, latin, commercial (?), etc.

For those of you who have taken one, care to share your experiences? Positives? Negatives?

Real talk though, I have taken them in the past with girlfriends. Women love that nonsense. Half the class was always couples.

I won't have never taken one by myself doe

Does Zumba count? I took a Zumba class at the gym once. I wanted to impress a girl there.

Yea, its a great idea to take classes to learn the style and even try out different styles. You want to have the proper fundamentals and form, and the best way to learn that is to take classes by expert dancers. Without the fundamentals, you'll know moves but they'll be sloppy and you won't be able to create on your own.

My advice is to stay in the back for your first couple classes.

I'm not good at choreography so I mostly stay in the back. But if you are good at choreography and remembering moves then, you could be up front.

I've been watching choreography videos heavy on Youtube for like the past year.  I like Brian Puspos and Ian Eastwood. A part of me thinks it's really cool, but the other part of me thinks its lame as hell so I can't bring myself to go to classes.

This gotta be because of Drake...lmaoooo

Spanish dance studios everywhere about to Flourish because of Champagne

my personal favourites are Lyle Beniga and Lando Wilkins. Also throw in Keone Madrid.

I've done a couple of hip hop choreo classes before.

I took American dance in college and i take Afro-Cuban and Samba class every so often. The yambs ratio is always through the roof and your guaranteed to come up. And of course you will learn some dance moves.

FYI your going to screw up at first and there's most likely always going to be someone better than you. Just role with it and keep learning. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Also have fun.

Let me guess u watched the new drake video? U dudes are sad. Unless u going wit yo girl stick to a crispy 2 step and u good for life. Ain't no real ****** cha chaing in the club solo b, that's something u do wit ya girl.

No lie me and some homies last weekend were thinking of taking a Spanish dance class but the Drizzy vid solidified that idea.

Well, don't you want to be able to do stuff with ya girl besides 2 step. You aint gotta be in the middle of the dance floor putting on a solo performance but taking classes here and there will make you an overall better dancer, even if you are just 2 stepping.

Plus you will be more confident out on the floor.
