D.R.A.M. "THE I LIKE TO CHA CHA GUY" ANYONE?

I don't care bout the legal rights. It's the same beat.

Dude. A producer giving the same beat to different artists has happened 375948294 times before. It has EVERYTHING to do with legalities. Do you know anything about the music business? That's not a matter of creativity.

This Drake and Dram thing is a discussion about creativity. Not "using the same beat".

What are you not understanding about this?

Bobby Smurda flips Banks' beat yet no one cares. But all the fake outrage bout this. Folks just mad cuz Drake on top.

Not even close to the same situation.

Shmurda did a Freestyle to Jackpot that blew up because of the dance.

Sorta like how no one remembers the original artist that Wayne's Sky's The Limit Freestyle beat belongs to?

Same situation except mainstream America fell in love with the dance so Shmurda went back and bought the beat which I'm assuming Banks got for free to use on his mixtape.

But this Drake situation is that Drake (out of his own mouth) was inspired by Cha Cha so he put the same drums over the Timmy Thomas sample so the song had the same vibe and cadence as Cha Cha. And there's nothing wrong with that.

He probably didn't expect for it to become such a hit though and DRAM probably wouldn't give a damn if this wasn't on pace to become one of the biggest records of the year.

dude is a serial biter and what's worse is that nobody seems to care
It's scary man.  But this dude hit it on the head...
Because majority of his supporters, and support system have no integrity. If they were in his shoes, they'd bite too. Fans are docile and followers, as well.
No musical integrity.  This dude is comfortable with making shameful moves like these and then conjuring up new rules just to fit him best...and he can because he's in that position.  He's abused the hell out of it though.  He tried to liken this obvious creative rip to the use of a riddim.  N', this AINT a riddim, so what is your point
laugh.gif
?  There is no similarity.  He's sipped enough of his Kool-Aid to believe that he can take whatever someone else does and make a better version himself...and that's what he has chosen to do with his career at this point.  I don't even understand what cats are listening to...his voice simply does not sound good.  He can't even sing.  I really just am puzzled by it all.  It must be the machine he has behind him because it's just unbelievable how someone as limited in pure talent and musical ability as him can literally be on TOP the way he is right now ::Kanye shrug::

Banks never paid for the jackpot beat tho, so essentially they were both freestyles untilbobby joint blew up then that paperwork had to get done. Kinda like when zaytoven give 5 dudes the same beat cuz none of em pay for em. But how we Acknowledge soulja as a theft and act like drake hasn't been stealing for a while? That ghostwriter thing doesn't seem so far fetched now huh.

I see the cappers are here in full force. No one said anything before it was a hit because son wasn't making a penny off of it. When u take somebody **** and get paid is when its a real problem. I'm sure most people myself included didn't even know what the hell dram or his song was until drake song blew up and I started seeing it on the web.

I didn't know who dude was till Tues. and I was honesly on Drake side till I heard Cha Cha and yeaaaaa ain't no denying it

Drake has reached the point in fame where everything he touches turns to gold. It's a great place to be if an artist is putting out fire and really striving to be the best personally but can really frustrate some if that same artist is into some odd practices or becoming lazy with their work. Drake can do no wrong at this point

not the same beat. cha cha sampled mario bros hotline bling sampled Timmy Thomas's "Why Can't We Live Together". drums and the vibe are very similar but we not gonna act like many rappers aren't inspired to sing by some of drakes music neither

it debuted as the cha cha remix and drake spoke on it in the fader i think it was . i mean , thats kinda hard to deny . the question is , is it wrong ? and if it is wrong , do drake fans care ?

drake been defying gravity for the past 10 years

LET ME BREAK THIS DOWN FOR YOU ******: Drake early **** like "Room for improvement" he was rapping like Hov. Kanye drop 808s and Heartbreak and he basically drops the continuation with So Far Gone. Big Sean popularize the "Supa Dupa Flow" not only did Drake Take it he used it through out Thank Me later until everybody started doing it and then he criticize the people "playing it out". Next Album Take Care was basically The Weeknd Trilogy because the ***** gave him half of his own album because he was hungry.. On top of that Kanye dropped My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy in 2010 with about 15 plus songs between the album and the G.O.O.D Sunday series so Drake on that very same album does 15 plus songs with Hella features just like Kanye did. Kanye would soon diss that approach and claim to become minimal and make shorter projects. What does Drake do?? Says that Take Care had "Too Much Filler" and he makes his own Minimal album with Nothing was the Same. Now let's go back a bit.. Let me add some filler of my own to make a point. Remember when A$AP first blew up and Drake was on camera calling himself A$AP Drizzy?? How about when he jumped on the Future Tony Montana joint and when Future wanted Drake in the video he sent a subliminal diss on twitter like "You give a ***** a bone and he ask for a steak"?? Okay back to business. Drake was called out for the YG verse, Quentin Miller ****, Drill Movement **** riding, Migos, can't forget the Houston rip off that eventually turned into "Toronto Wave"... Bruh!! If this **** ain't leeching ***** I don't know what is... I'm still missing **** lol!

Crazy

It's spot on tho.

^^ sad thing is he missing a few. This ***** is literally doing the same **** soulja boy do on a bigger scale. But the excuses

DRAM's "$" song sounds a lot like Sanctified w/ Kanye, BIG SEAN, and Rick Ross. It sounds slowed down a little bit. I **** with both of the songs though, no hate.

Everything after Take Care being influenced by Weeknd (which is true) is a reach except for him hopping on other peoples songs.

Speak of the devil and he shall appear.

Man I ain even gotta steals dudes post. Over the last couple weeks I've been seeing cats eyes been opened. I'm seeing points made that I been made mad times already. "Flash in the pan", the Nelly and Ja Rule comparisons, the blatant double standards, etc. I been spoke on these things and sheeple like Rusty try act like I was crazy.

Now them same points is being cosigned. I ain even mad. As long as cats is realizing this Canadian foolio ain the end all be all incredible artist that stans like Rusty think he is. I'm good.

Repped for that anthology.

Sidenote, I mentioned just yesterday in the Meek thread that Drake's corniness was multivolume. Dude just broke it down on the musical aspect. The personality corniness is a whole other volume.

Definitely not listening to a remix at all. The melody is similar in the beginning of "$" to the piano keys in "Sanctified". There's definitely more notes being played in "Sanctified" and bass that can throw off the similarities. "$" beginning sounds like a slowed down version.
I'm not worried if you can't hear it or notice it. I've shown other people outside of the internet that have noticed it.
