The Minnesota Timberwolves Offseason Thread - Kris Dunn at No. 5 in Most Recent DX Mock

2-0 overall. 2-0 on the road.

This team is a brotherhood. Close-knit. Whatever you wanna call it. Notice how Wiggins and Barton get testy, yet KG, Sam and Prince all their by Andrew's side, while no one really going back to bat for Barton. Special bond going on in "'Sota."

Watching the second unit is a bit tough. Bazz knows what to do. And Belly is good. But I think Lavine out there with Kmart won't work for too long. Gorgui is playing his way out of the rotation. I don't know if it was the altitude or what but he just looked lost.

I'm kinda torn on that second unit with Martin/Lavine because I don't like them playing together. I don't know if it's best to keep running Lavine out there even though he's not very good right now or what. He just kills any potential flow/chemistry.

I'm in the minority it seems, but I like Martin because he provides a scoring punch and he's really Minnesota's ONLY consistent scorer. He's also very savvy when it comes to drawing fouls and getting to the line, which is another asset of having a guy like him.

If they were crying before the game and after that video tribute to Flip, as KAT did, I can't blame them. This month will be tough just based off emotions. I was scared to see KG thoughts because I would just start crying uncontrollably. If I was at the game man :smh:

Tough loss.

You can tell Wigs is struggling with his back. He's 12-40 and 0-6 from the arc. Hopefully this clears up.

Gonna be interesting to see how these units play out - first unit, second unit. Tayshaun Prince obviously has his value somewhere here - but he has one total FG in three games and would not be a starter for any other team in the league. LaVine continues to look ugly and it's noticeable the drop when Rubio goes to the bench. Rubio right now is +36 for the season, LaVine is -16.

I will continue to say this - Zach, Tyus, and even Payne need to be playing in the D-League and developing there. I know the Wolves don't have an official team down there anymore but I really don't know how these NBA teams can't figure that out. Bottom line is coaching staffs don't trust giving these prospects up to another town and they would rather see them every day in practice here even if they don't ever play in games. I can see that. It's fascinating to me how in 2015 the league has still not figured out a proper minor league system that makes everyone comfortable.

This team looks miles better than last year, you can just see it.

Another winnable game next coming up at home vs. Miami.

Oh he's struggling...

Sam Mitchell challenging Andrew Wiggins in a around the world shooting game. And he won. Still got it.

I post that facetiously obviously but I agree, something's not right there and I can't figure out what it is.

Sam tells the media that he expects K-Mart to be back tomorrow. Excused today for personal reasons. #Twolves

Miami might be without a former Timberwolf player.

Really, really weird story that's only partial right now about Gerald Green being hospitalized and the Heat not clarifying what it is. Apparently Mario Chalmers was with him when he was ridden to the hospital. From the Sun Sentinel: vbs.cm/c0rkLG

Lavine almost matching Rubio in minutes....

4 bench players playing more minutes than Rubio and Towns. Can anyone explain Sam Mitchell?

Rubio, I thought was playing pretty well.. Towns was struggling with his shot and was so so defensively, shouldn't you let him play through games like this?

He also subbed Towns in around the beginning of the 4th only to take him out after a possession. Same thing with Rubio.. Subbed him in down 20 with 4 minutes left only to take him out after 30 seconds.

6 games in 9 nights? cmon on man. They should get rid of back to backs I don't see the reason.

Damn :smh:

Defense has been slacking - Mitchell was hot after the game you could tell. I agree I don't really understand his minute allotment so far this year but we gotta see it play out. With this roster the roles are not clear yet.

@Chicago then @Atlanta coming up :\

This is the first time the Bulls have ever been shut out in an overtime period.

Just needs to stay aggressive.. the last 2 game he was asking for the ball. He also showed a lot of emotion too, after that monster dunk he did a mini flex

followed that up with a couple And 1s he was hype and was showing it

need him to keep up that aggressiveness.

KG is doing wonders to this young team. The bench gets up and cheers for the guys after dunks and 3s.. something they haven't done in a while, it starts with KG howling and ****

Can't forget Towns either.. all 3 of his blocks came in the final few minutes

Now they just gotta figure out how to win at home.. we're underdogs at home tonight against the sorry Bobcats

:wow: that game.

The first half last night was as entertaining of a half I've seen from the Wolves in a decade. Bananas.

The Wolves then led by 34 in the 3rd quarter.....but were down by one with 4 minutes left in the 4th  :smh: (come on)

They got that W in the end though, all that matters.

Wiggins is heating up. I'm really likin the way Mitchell has these guys playing with their pace. Hella entertaining right now.

Here come the nagging injuries :smh:

Rubio and Wiggins both sat with knee problems.

KAT with another nice game.

Wolves drop to 0-3 at home.

Those injuries seem a little sus.. Rubio was in the starting lineup according to Zgoda 3 minutes before tipoff. Then ruled out.. talk about late scratch.

Wiggins "slipped"
eyes.gif
.. they're looking ahead to the Warriors on Thursday is my guess.

Are we at game 5 of 9 nights? It will be interesting to see how small we can go against the Dubs with Dray at the 5 against KAT.

:smh: Curry with a ring against Rubio. He might let all the bullets go tomorrow night

Yall think if Flip was the coach or in charge besides Kahn and Rambis :rolleyes he could persuaded Curry to come here? Wasn't there reports he didn't want to be here because of us trading picks to grab Rubio? I would have love to see what Flip could do with Curry. Or if he had the choice at the time which PG he would've picked.

Golden State buzzsaw :smh:

And here we go...

Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor is negotiating to sell about 20 percent of the team to a group led by one of the Memphis Grizzlies' minority partners, Yahoo! Sports reported Thursday evening.

The report characterized the talks with a group led by Los Angeles private equity investor Steve Kaplan as "serious" and said the group's intention is to buy majority interest when Taylor decides to sell the team sometime in the future.

The rumor was Curry didn't want to come in here for a predraft workout because he preferred other teams but last year said if MN drafted him he would have came in here like a pro.

David Kahn said he thought Curry's size and lack of defense was an issue for him. It just goes to show you the guys on the top level of basketball still often have no idea what they are doing and watching with their own eyes.

As for Flip he always could have passed on him too for all we know - remember, one of the Rubio/Flynn picks was given to the Wolves BY Saunders and the Wizards when he felt it was a good deal to trade away the #5 in return for Randy Foye and Mike Miller.

Curry would not be close to the same player he is now if he ended up playing for Saunders IMO. He would have Curry taking 18 footers and looking over at the bench for the next play he has to run every time down the floor. Steph should be saying his prayers every single night he goes to bed that he ended up where he ended up.

"Karl Anthony Towns might one of the best 25 players in the league already. He's just really good. It looks like he was in college for four years.

You know I do that trade value column every year. You could argue Wiggins and Towns are two of the top 8 or 9 most untradeable guys in the league right now.

But I would like to see them get a coach that is commensurate to their talents."
