The Minnesota Timberwolves Offseason Thread - Kris Dunn at No. 5 in Most Recent DX Mock

Oh and the thing I like about Lavine is he WANTS to play for Minny I mean dude wore the Twins Jersey he threw the first pitch in at the all star fashion show  . When he was drafted in his interviews he talked passionately about playing in Minny and wanting to be apart of lifting the wolves up. This is a couple of years ago when the media was talking about Minnesota like a desolate wasteland that no rookie would want to play in when Wiggins got traded.

It's the reason iike KAT, Lavine and Wiggins honestly. They all want to be apart of putting the Wolves on the map.

So happy things have fallen into place these last few years and it appears that Dunn falling in their laps was another one. Looks like a great kid.

I'm not saying Lavine is a stud on KAT and Wiggins level ( although I think he be closer then most people think) but he's clearly is a talent.

I've actually increased my expectations of LaVine after what we saw from him after the All-Star break. I would almost argue hes #2 behind Towns instead of Wiggins in terms of potentially being a future star.

Love KAT.. kid plays with a ton of heart and leaves it out on the floor every night. He understands what it takes to be great.

Even when he played amazing in games last year he was looking for how he could have done better

.. wouldn't trade him for anyone, we're so lucky to have him here

Before I say this, I'll preface it by saying I think we're in good hands with the outlook on the future and his desire to be in Minnesota, but I always stop myself from thinking too hard on what may happen when he's a free agent and possibly wants to leave. I'm an incurable optimist, but being a Minnesota fan can definitely create some pessimism...They need to get at least a taste of being a Finals team to ease the worry. Give him a 15-year contract!

Hey Twolves Fans,

Im a recent grad at Providence and watch every game that Dunn has played in the past two seasons. Definitely wanted to give a bias point of view as I'm hoping he does well.

He is explosive and can get to the basket anytime he wants. He has great vision and just didn't have the personnell to finish and catch his passes and hit jumpers. Pc shot under 30 percent from the 3 pt line. Easily could have averaged 10 assists.

His defense will lead to many fast break points.
The turnovers aren't that alarming, he will learn to handle the ball and he's a fast break plAyer so turnovers are bound to happen.

I like the John Wall comparisons, rich man's rondo ceiling.
Don't see the Dwade comparison that some Nters are saying.

If him and Rubio can coexist, they'd be a scary team. His college offense consisted of him playing off ball and making cuts and driving past defenders. So he doesn't need to have a ball in his hand all the time to be productive.
Rubio
Dunn
Levine
Wiggins
Towns

Is a great core to have.

He could definitely average around 15 and 7 this season.
I will be following the wolves a lot more this season to see how Dunn does and good luck with the summer.

Thanks for that update!

I agree, it seems the Wolves have a nucleus of young talent that are high-character guys who actually don't mind being here. With the Timberwolves you HAVE to factor this in. It's weird, as a fan I always am worried about what players will eventually want to leave but at this present moment I am not (yet) too concerned about it. That's a good feeling. These dudes just seem to do nothing but spend their free time in the gym.

I am indeed intrigued to see what LaVine grows in to - I more than anyone often forget a player like him is still only 21.

Help embed.

His highlights from the tourney show some outside shooting, drive and slash and defense.

I would also see his game against Arizona in the Thanksgiving tourney where he scored the teams last 10 points to come back from 6 down in the last two minutes.
Just wanna get you guys hyped for my boy.

Cole Aldrich, woooo!!!

Actually, not a bad signing. Provides some depth and he's a sturdy body. Rim protector and not a bad player overall.

Dunn looking like a stud in summer league. His game looks NBA ready from day one. Still early but might be time to trade pretty Ricky

I'm embarrassed this guy is on our roster

I'm even more embarrassed we traded a future 1st for this bum

 that's why I said it's still early

But if we get to a point where it's not a drop off when Rubio is off the floor then maybe...

Dunn and lavine and a 1st round pick for Russ!

I want my dude Russ to shine with you guys

Timberwolves in preliminary stages of rebranding, including new uniforms

StarTribune

The Timberwolves are in the preliminary stages of a rebranding effort that will include new uniforms, though it’s “a very long-term process that is barely in its infancy at this point,” Brad Ruiter, the team’s VP of communications, told the Star Tribune on Friday.

On Thursday, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s Nick Halter wrote that the Wolves are getting a new logo and uniforms, quoting owner Glen Taylor as saying, “I think so. Sooner than later. No definite date has been set.”

Per Halter, there is this component to the 2017-18 timeline:

Taylor said one reason he hired CEO Ethan Casson because Casson helped guide the San Fransisco 49ers up the ranks of the NFL from a revenue standpoint. He hopes Casson can do with the same using a renovated Target Center and through a jersey sponsorship, which will be allowed by the NBA for the 2017-2018 season.

However, on the subject of a timeline, Ruiter said, “It’s way too early to tell.”

As Halter also noted, the Wolves have tweaked their look over the years but have not had a major logo overhaul since 1996 — 20 years ago, which was Kevin Garnett’s second season and Stephon Marbury’s rookie season with the Wolves.

Thank goodness. I don't like their current uniforms, though the term "rebranding" scares me. I like their Wolf logos and I like both their retro and current color schemes. It's just their uniforms that I dont like...We'll see.

So, what's up with Pek? I think he can be a solid piece on this team and fill a nice role if he can stay on the court.
