YouTube Red: Ad-free vids and music for $10/month announced...kinda want

You dudes are missing the point. Adblock wont work because in order to even view videos from youtube partners (people like Jenna Marbles, Marques Brownlee, Pewdie Pie, iJustine.....) you gotta pay up. Google is forcing them to be behind that pay wall. Which in turn will cause a drop in subscribers.

If youtube does this.. I'm done with them and do something else..

Are they actually enabling a script (like Hulu does) that will make it so you have to watch ads?

Edit: Also, if you don't pay for YouTube Red, are you not going to be able to watch content from those partners?

Thats how it seems. Youtube forcing partners to be behind a paywall.

NT doesn't think ppl should be compensated for their work anyway.

YouTube and all of these other sites make their money by selling your data via the cookies the site installs onto your browser. I don't mind using adblock to stop them from further profiting off of me.

unfortunate. but I honestly don't watch enough youtube to be affected. maybe if this was like 6 years ago Id be in an uproar lol

I heard about that.. If ESPN leaves.. What will Disney do?

ESPN put all its videos on its own media player, so they have a contingency. They're lucky in that sense, as the overwhelming majority of YouTubers don't have the luxury. You just have to go to ESPN/Grantland to see them, which sucks lol.

I don't know why anyone would even watch vids from someone named jenna marbles unless she does stuff with marbles and her body.

This comes with Google's music pass too doe.

So this is a better option for someone that watches a lot of video on youtube and has Spotify

I don't use ad blockers, I know that's were sites make their revenue. Seems like a d-bag move to do so.

Not judging doe
Dude, you can disable adblock on websites you care about.

ESPN pulled their content

I heard about that.. If ESPN leaves.. What will Disney do?
Disney signed a deal with them so from what ive read today all that content is staying put.

The reason for the ESPN stuff getting pulled is because a lot of their content contains footage from NBA/MLB/NFL etc. so it'll create a bunch of unnecessary legal things for them to iron out with those leagues over licensing

EDIT: didn't see the other post explaining it
