Yea... I love Adele, but this isn't really dope like that.

It's a bit flat, emotionally. Not even looking for the sadness...I just don't feel it. It feels like trying. Even the lyrics are a bit pedestrian. Reminds me on Lana lyrics.

Supposedly, she had pretty bad writer's block throughout the whole process. She met with one of the producers (Greg Kurstin) to write "Hello," which took 6 months. I think it's a good song, but definitely should not have taken that long to write. To put it in perspective, Sam Smith wrote "Writings on the Wall" in 20 minutes.

I've only listened to the entire album once, and I'll admit, that I too was not blown away. It does seem to be lacking that angst and passion that were in the past two albums. I do believe "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" will be a radio hit at some point, particularly because Max Martin was a contributor and that guy cranks out #1 hits.

Other highlights IMO:

When We Were Young
Remedy (Ryan Tedder is a musical genius)
River Lea
Million Years Ago

It won't be dropping on Google Play, or Apple Music, or Spotify, or any other streaming service.

Adele felt that these services don't pay artists fairly, so she's making people buy the album (just like T Swift did with "1989").

Homegirl is on her way to selling 2M+ in week 1. I read a fun fact today that the record company shipped the most units of her album since N' Sync's "No Strings Attached" back in 2000.

She aint real

After the first listen, I'm not too compelled to play it over. I'll give it more time, but I don't think it's anything close to what we've received from Adele in the past.

River Lea is the only track that really stood out to me from everything we haven't heard.

I enjoyed the album. Was a worthwhile purchase. Last album was so good and had so much time to permeate that nothing she did this time would have impressed people immediately. I think its a quality album.

I'm happy it hasnt made me a little bish. Thank God for that.

What's with the cheap packaging on this? Even the disk is plain

Solid album. No real big ballads like Rollin in the Deep or Set Fire to the rain though :frown:
