In early 2012, Dwight Howard was set to become a free agent and made it clear he had no intention of re-signing with the Orlando Magic. At the time, the Brooklyn Nets were his preferred destination.

It turns out an actual deal was close to happening. At one point, Howard even told teammates a trade was done, at least according to former Magic teammate J.J. Redick:

"There was a deal on the table right before the season started, right after the lockout ended, for [Howard] to go to Brooklyn," Redick said in a podcast with Yahoo Sports! Adrian Wojnarowski. "I can remember being in the shower after practice, one of the first practices of the season, and him saying ‘I love you guys, I'm headed to Brooklyn, trade is going down later tonight.'

"And I'm on Twitter, I'm on HoopsHype, you know for 24 hours, like ‘When this is going down?'" he continued. "It didn't go down, and I think for the rest of the season there was an underlying resentment because of that."

I'm curious what the outgoing package for Dwight would have been. Pretty clear Orlando wasn't interested in Brook Lopez all that much.

Utah would be insane to let Burks go, especially for a trade involving Teague, but if they could put something like this together, they'd be a fool not to do it. 

I'd much rather have German Rondo than Teague.

Nobody really got snubbed, it's way too deep of a field man.

I mean, I can put a team together(probably 2 teams) of Rooks/Sophs that weren't picked that would compete with the current World/US roster.

And with the 1st pick in the 2106 Guy Who Didn't Make the World/US teams, the @a-friend's select Myles Turner from the University of Tejas

JJ said Dwight came into the lockerroom in 2011 and told the team he was being traded to Brooklyn. The trade mever went through and that'swjy he wanted out of Olrando so badly :lol:

That wasn't even the Dwight gem. The story about how he decided to opt in and completely torpedo the Brooklyn plan was gold. Classic childish Dwight.
 
Kobe bullying James Deam was not a sign a respect. If he had genuinely earned the respect of players, people would‘ve offerred him a seat on thr bench.

Good thing Kobe had buttock heat swapped onto his. HA.

James Deams comment about Kobe are on point though.

Celtics legend/color commentator Tommy Heinsohn recently said Kelly Olynyk has "the potential to be better than Dirk Nowitzki." Dirk's reply: "Yeah, I mean, I like the kid. I'm just not sure about all that. But I really do like him. He's a good shooter. He's improved from year to year, so I do wish him the best. He can be a really good player, but I don't know if his ceiling is all the way up there." Olynyk is only 27,162 points shy of Nowitzki after the No. 6 scorer in NBA history had 31 points during the Mavs' overtime win over the Celtics. "He's got a long way to go," Nowitzki said.

Not sure how Nets situation could get worse, I think that's it.

Are you guys expecting them to play defense? I hope they do but I have my doubts. Watching a glorified layup line is anything but lit to me

As with any all-star game, you'll only see real defense if the game is close toward the end - except from someone like, say, Neto, who probably doesn't know how not to play D.

Yeah, its weird how they just kind of tend to work out that way because one team will go on like 15 point run. Then the other team will do it. Its not basket-for-basket the whole time, but somehow the scores end up being close.

he really trying to act like he did nothing when we saw how many times have we seen him  disrespect his coach. pushing him away, etc etc.

i really cant believe this dude still  has fans but then kanye still has fans. ehh. so i can see how.
