the promise of former 8th overall pick just a year into his career and the possibility of the Kings being the worst team ever and getting like a #1 overall pick or soemthing out of the trade for just taking on crap salary

I get why people piled on the Kings, and I do agree that it wasn't a very smart trade.... but still it was a bet on yourself so I don't have to big an issue with that
