Emmanuel Mudiay made 5-of-15 from the field for 12 points with five rebound, four assists, one steal and two turnovers in 34 minutes on Saturday.
He is a complete disaster as a scorer, making just 32.4 percent from the field on the season. He is on pace to be the first player in NBA history to turn the ball over more than three times per game and make less than 35 percent from the field. He's almost hopeless in nine-cat standard leagues. He's still not even a top-35 point guard in eight-cat either. Nov 28 - 11:53 PM

He'll get better but yeesh :x. It looks like the nuggets have started taking the ball out of his hands since he got into it with malone. Normally he would touch the ball multiple times every possession, now you see Gallo harris and others doing more playmaking. As a result his turnovers are going down but so are his assists. He has great feel for the game as a passer and gets guys good looks with ease, exact opposite when he creates for himself. Looks completely out of sync.

His overall decision making needs a lot of work. For example vs San antone he kept trying to shoot fade aways over lma. He just needs to not do things like that. If he just takes less shots and has the ball in his hands less it will clean up his #s. He won't score or assist as much but he would be more efficient. Looks like Malone has actually started coaching him so that's a good sign.

I think the Warriors can beat the heat's 27 game record. From the eye test, they're certainly the better team.

I think part of the reason this is getting so much steam is because theyre coming straight out the gate with some fire. Never seen a team find eachother so seamlessly on the offensive end. It's kind of intimidating as a player I suppose but then the competitiveness kicks in. Unfortunately for most teams, they just have too much fire power and unselfishness. That team doesnt live or die with a single player. If Curry is off, they still have a chance at the game, and if he's on you're gonna get blown out.

Meanwhile the alleged bust Daneglo Russel is putting up decent numbers while playing in a system thats terrible for his game, playing with a coach that actively despises him, and playing with one of the worst players in the league jacking up 20 shots a game.

Yeah, he definitely makes some questionable choices with respect to scoring opportunities. What concerns me most is that, the last few times I've seen him play, he hasn't made any efforts to get to the basket and score or get fouled. Or minimal effort, anyway. For a guard with his size and quickness he should be attacking the basket more.

Yea the hype on mudiay was crazy. He's definitely a project. Not that great of an athlete like he was made out to be, he's like lowry level which isn't bad. I don't think he'll break that record.. the nuggets/malone have to step in and give him some kind of structure. He should never have been given that much freedom, he's not at all ready for that. December will be a big month for him.

Yea, I never understood the Mudiay slurpage I was reading on here.

I even read a post that claimed the Lakers made a mistake by not drafting the "transcendent" Mudiay.

In the few times I've seen Mudiay, he rarely turns the corner to score and the defense knows it. Add to it that he can't shoot and you have what you see

Just play off him 5+ feet, and can completely negate the speed he has because he can't make you pay for it.

Lol.

I read this fairly recently. Like, within the last week or so. Which makes it even worse.

He doing everything he can to get out of Philly

This . Funny how oak and a guy like cousins are perceived when cuz has never got into this kinda trouble. People were saying the lakers goofed but it's a good chance they'll be able to get oak for a protected 2nd rounder in a few months.

Philly needs some vets bro. I mean, young adults get into this type of behavior regularly for the most part but you would like to see some someone take him under the wing and accelerate his learning curve....

You'd think after having a gun pointed at his head and then getting into a fist fight shortly thereafter that he'd pump the brakes somewhat, but instead he's speeding off towards the nation's crime capital

Problem is no vet wants to play there... And when the Sixers trade for a Vet, they immediately cut them.

Report: Veterans don't want to play for the Philadelphia 76ers
By Zach Harper | NBA writer
January 12, 2015 4:31 pm ET

The Philadelphia 76ers recently acquired Andrei Kirilenko for another chance at compiling future second round picks. Kirilenko never reported to the Sixers, as many believed he may just be able to work a buyout with the team and then move on to sign with a contender for the remainder of the season. The Sixers didn't see the situation that way. They were patient with Kirilenko attending to a family matter in New York City, but eventually suspended the veteran forward without pay for not reporting to the team.

Kirilnko isn't the first veteran not too keen on signing with a Sixers team that is constructing the franchise from the ground up under Sam Hinkie. According to Keith Pompey of Philly.com, one anonymous player in the Eastern Conference said nobody wants to play for the Sixers right now. With them not putting forth a roster that allows them to win now, veterans don't want to waste precious years racking up losses in the name of the future.

The 76ers are feeling good about themselves after winning two straight games and three of their last four.

But that hasn't changed how the team is viewed by veterans around the NBA.

"No one wants to go there," said an Eastern Conference player who spoke on the condition of anonymity. "Not right now."

This makes sense for the veterans. You don't have a very long time to make the most out of your career and most guys put winning above just about everything else. The Sixers aren't building a situation conducive to winning now, sacrificing the present in hopes of building a dynamic future. Hinkie has stuck to a plan since taking over in the offseason of 2013 and he's using Brett Brown as the coach to develop the stars of the future for Philadelphia, as they acquire higher draft picks through the lottery.

For guys like Kirilenko, that's a waste of time for a future that may not include them anyway. Coach Brown understands the decision by those veterans to not want to participate in the rebuilding process, knowing the organization is sticking firmly to Hinkie's plan.

"I'm not disappointed about it," Brown said. "If you made me say, do I want them or don't I, of course I do. But I understand it. And I think it's just the reality of where we are at. It's just part of the whole evolution of rebuilding our program.

"I think if anybody would sort of step back and truly look at it, it wouldn't shock anybody that they choose other options."

Probably the most concerning part of the Sixers' plan is their unwillingness to spend money to get to the salary floor. There is still time for them to acquire a veteran player that will push them closer or past the $56.7 million salary floor, but if it doesn't happen, it gives the existing players on the roster a contract bonus. That money will be spent regardless of whether they give it to free agents or not, but it does take away a suitor in free agency, which is something players and agents want to have.

You can't make the Sixers spend the money, but a lack of being involved in these talks when they've cleared so much cap room can hurt the salary structures and negotation process for veteran players around the league.

They are going to suffer for a while until they turn it around to being a near miss of the playoffs. Then you'll get some vets to want to play there... But who knows how many years away that is.

WavyCrocket is pretty high on Mudiay, but don't think he's ever called him "transcendent."

Yup. I been high on him. Never called him anything close to transcendent . I just think he's a good young PG with a good head on his shoulders and a nice Arsenal of tools at his disposal. He'll figure it out.

Agreed. Philly has no vets at all. Jah needs to chill out....but I'm not too concerned with his character. He's 19 and can't handle his liquor yet.

The social media, everything recorded age we live in makes it tough for athletes sometimes. Not afforded the same leeway as back in the day. They gotta be on que at all times when partying. Paul Pieece got stabbed in a club when he was young for beefing with Benzino....and he used to party with Antoine Walker, Kenny Anderson and that crew all the time. He turned out fine. Countless other stories of NBA guys turning up and getting into mythical situations back in the day. Jahlil be ard. Just go to the clubs a lil less, and don't drink as much.

Philly has absolutely 0 Veterans. It's crazy.

It was kind of concerning how openly pouty Okafor was about getting drafted by the Sixers. Definitely suggested some maturity issues. But I didn't think he'd be out trying to get the title of the NBA's #1 Thug less than a quarter through the season.

Story is 3 weeks old....

Not good for Jah, but funny how now the media will report all of this in an attempt to build a story about Jahlil's character.
