America is gonna win anyways regardless of who goes. It matters not what X player can do in an international setting. The average margin of victory is gonna be like 22 points.

wall just needs to go into the tryouts and bust his *** and give them a reason not to cut him. he already said he will be the odd man out himself, but if he impresses the coaches, you never know...also him not being with nike doesnt help his cause

He wears Nike every game now. Adidas deal is over. Wearing LeBrons right now vs Portland. His new agent is LeBrons agent.

It is true. In fact, the avg margin will be bigger than 22.

However, for the purpose of choosing a roster, what player x can do in an international setting matters.

Why do you need more scoring when you have more scoring then you know what to do with. Who here honestly believes team USA would have a scoring problem without Irving? Getting shooters wide open looks helps everyone else score. Why is that lost on the thread.
Please leave Blake and Chris Paul off the team.
and this is why i said we dont NEED curry. scoring is currys biggest asset. its negated by the other 4 on the floor who are elite scorers as well. at this rate u pick the best players at the role. i would rather a cp3 and kyrie duo, than curry and one of them. cuz having curry surrounded by the USA team means curry cant take like 10 3pters a game. he has to distribute. and whats the point of having curry if he doesnt have the green light to shoot like he wants? id rather have cp3 average 15 assists and still get buckets when needed, than have a ball dominant pg on a team full of elite scorers.

Curry doesn't have to be ball dominant to be effective for that team. His shooting alone should make him a no brainier.

curry is also a great facilitator and spot up shooter
he doesnt need the ball in his hands. just him being on the floor would open things up even more. he could stand 40ft from the basket and you would need a defender on him closely

leaving the greatest player on earth off team usa

Can't wait to get my sneaker deal with Nike. Gonna be called the CJ-McFlys. Joints gonna be crack too. Not no Russ Westbrook looking kicks either. Like a Kobe and Penny Hybrid.

Its probably gonna be like 30.
Idk if it really matters when they're going to run the table anyways. It makes for good conversation I guess.

its like u completely missed the part about there being 4 other elite scorers on the team. why do u need CURRY's shooting when his assist game aint on par of the other two? if you only gonna let the pg shoot a couple 3s and take open layups here and there, cp3, curry, and kyrie will score the same amount. curry is a SCORING pg. u need a pg who CAN score, but who's extremely good at creating plays or assisting. if u got harden,kd,lebron, and DMC on the floor with curry... why would u have curry chucking 3s? honestly?

Personally I love these discussions

The latter is all this is for.

Like I said, if Wall was on the squad instead of any other guard we would blow teams away.

Why do you need Curry's shooting? The best shooter in the world?

Man what kind of question is that?

do u have an answer?

curry needed? no, but he is wanted.
same with every other player. team usa doesn't need anyone to win this thing. there's about 100 guys deep they can pluck and win this medal

this is the mvp and league's best offensive threat we are talking about

Yeah nice debate fellas. I get where everyone is coming from. Team USA would/will dominate regardless of who goes in the end.

Starters:

Cp3
Curry
Bron
KD
AD

Bench:

Melo
Russ
Klay
Kyrie
Blake
PG13
Kawhi

This is likely what will be seen. I know Coach K likes to go with a True Big...so it's between Blake/Dwight/DMC/Love...maybe Dray. He's kind of new to this USA bball experience...so he might not get the fair shot. But training camp energy can do wonders. See Farried.

I don't think PG13 "deserves" a spot because of that horrific injury. But it is what it is.

Why not? Offensively, Kawhi is more limited than PG. Both are top notch defensively, of course nobody is on KAwhi's level there. But don't "No way" it as if it isn't an argument at all LOL
team usa. you already have lots of dude that can score and create. Kawhi d and fact that he doesnt need the ball in his hands>  what pg brings to team usa. also agreed on just because pg had a injury doesnt mean  hes a should be a shoo-in  in or deserving of a spot. i cant think like that or believe that comes in to play for any reason. .

Steph + a shorter 3 pt line??

Bruh, he better average 10 attempts a game. And I gurantee Bron, KD, Melo will hve NO problems passing Steph the ball once he starts heating up. I wanna see him hang 70 on some tiny eruopean country.

it seems like yall value currys shooting ability more so than the other pg's playmaking ability. and if u value that more then so be it. but u know he wont have a green light like he does on GS.

Uhhh yeah he will

Wait why would he at the Olympics? He's not gonna be the only one who can score at will on that squad. I could see it if Kerr was the coach but that's not the case as we know

The games are only 40 minutes long, man. When Carmelo set the Team USA Olympic scoring record in 2012, he scored 37 points and hit 10/12 from three-point range (Durant has the overall record at 38). And you're asking Steph to double that? Not happening. Also, the Olympic tournament is smaller and more competitive compared to the FIBA World Cup. There aren't any tiny European nations to beat up on like that.
