Because the Spurs don't have enough power forwards who shoot mid range jumpers?

ibaka to the spurs doesnt make sense.

Any chance Curry will be in the discussion for Most Improved Player? Averaging 9 more ppg over last year and who's going to argue he hasn't made great improvements over last season's run? Either way I think it's a crazy situation, being if I were to just tell you the previous season's MVP would be the very next season's Most Improved Player. Just knowing that situation and not knowing the player involved, it's just wild to think about.

Not really necessary for your big man to be your first option in today's nba. Today's offense is perimeter oriented as hell. Better for your big guy to be a 3 and D guy with playmaking ability that can guard as many positions as possible.

Part of the difficulty in comparing players is accounting for context. What you're saying is true, if you already have a steph curry, iguodala, a harrison barnes, or even a bogut. In a different scenario where those great perimeter players aren't present, then its a different story. He needs good players to be good and there's nothing wrong with that

It's not just the Warriors. Draymond will do well on any team that has a good playmaker, double bonus if the playmaker can score. He's a pick and roll nightmare. Your boy CP would love Draymond more than he loves Blake, just on the basis that he's a 3 threat.

The only argument for Blake over Draymond is that he can create his own shot. But like I said, shouldn't be priority for a big man to do that on a good team. Better that he can stretch the floor, make plays and defend multiple positions. Its just hard to consistently run your offense through your big guys in today's game.

Draymond is the Warriors 2nd option
And if he went to LAC he would have to be the #1 option. If folks think the Clips look lackluster now...

On the flipside I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the Warriors wouldn't do a straight up Green for Blake trade. They don't necessarily need Blake's skill set over Dray's

If you were starting a team from scratch and both of them were available, I'm taking Blake hands down. Dray isn't such a bad consolation though

Why would OKC want this?
Cap room, maybe to offer KD more money or at least bring in some help for KD and Russ, not to mention 80% of the players the Spurs draft are underrated as long as you put them in the right system. You get David West who is a strong veteran leader. Why not.

That wouldn't even work in NBA 2K bro

We've seen what happens to OKC when Ibaka is out. And you want to replace him with DAVID WEST? They'd be in the running for the worst defensive team in the league lol. Veteran leadership (in the form of David West) ain't winning you a title. Plus, they have veteran leadership, especially in Durant and Collison.

But sure, trade away Durant's second longest-tenured teammate, and a vital part of their team. See how that goes when it's time for free agency.

This isn't entirely true in a sense that the offense has ran through blake the last two years and they've been doing just fine with that, to the tune of 56 and 57 wins. For some teams yes, it is hard to consistently run your offense through your bigs but that's a biproduct of not having the personnel to do so. Also, Draymond would only do well on teams that already have great players. That is, you can't build a team around Draymond because he just isn't good enough offensively.

And I don't know if the CP thing is true. Like I said earlier, have of Blake's 25 ppg this year is flat out individual offense. The amount of pressure on CP to manufacture offense if there was a Dray / Blake swap would not be a welcome development for CP, who's on the wrong side of 30. You want a horse to run an offense through if you're CP at this stage. Yeah Dray can extend to the 3 point line, but he really can't create offense for himself and the offense he creates for others again is largely due to steph curry's gravity. Not to mention blake is one of the best midrange shooters in the league in his own right. So he would welcome a blake / draymond swap just for an extra 3 per night? Nah lol

You make Dray a #1 and put him on the Clips and he won't be that good of a playmaker since he'll be asked to score more. He won't be as good of a defender because he'll be asked to do more. Same with his 3 point shooting, all would see a significant drop.
