illoquent aka dsk illoquent aka dsk I said all last year their assets were overrated. People kept talking about how they had x amount of first rounders, completely ignoring the protection on the majority of those picks. Late first rounders and 2nd rounders are basically worthless. Then the deadline passes, draft day comes and ainge does diddly. That's a fail and pretty much what I said would happen.

Their ONLY quality asset is this year's bk pick and they probably should've moved that already. Bk can finish as high as 5th worst and that pick loses a lot of value.

For right now, this very moment, I'll say they look good. 3 seed and a top 3 pick. That could EASILY change tho and then what? Long walk on a short treadmill.

KD is a sweetheart. Nothing wrong with a dude showing emotion, especially when it comes to death.

If I was Ainge, I don't know that I'd be looking to do anything major mid-season. Only real priority would be to flip Lee into something more useful. I think they're a second round team as currently constructed, possibly even ECF if things break right for them. They have great chemistry and depth and play hard. I wouldn't break that up yet. And a solid playoff run by them could make them more attractive to impact FAs.
I agree with all of this. I wouldn't do anything crazy, I'd try to flip Lee, their ceiling might be 2nd Round/ECF, a solid playoff run could help them out in the offseason...

I've lived in the area for a while so I'm aware of what goes on and catch a lot of their games. They're fun to watch and I'm envious of their situation. Their biggest issue though is NBA players aren't flocking to go to Boston. It's just not a destination city and it probably never will be. So they probably need to pull a trade first for a major piece and pray that convinces another legit #1 or #2 to join them. Sort of like KG when he finally agreed.

@leemelone  I hear you. We'll see what's up and how it plays out. They're in a really good place right now with assets on & off the court and look like they know what they're doing. I'd be shocked if it all turns to ****.

I know people like to clown KD for his emotional side, but I view being emotional as being alive. Being alive and living are entirely different things. If you're not emotional then you're not alive, and I view KD as fully alive.

I ain't gon lie...I got a lil emotional when I found out last night too.

I wouldn't wish that on no man. Monty's a DC guy and I've been to his camps as youngster.

I can't imagine getting a call my wife just died and having to go explain that to my kids.
I felt that way too G. I couldn't believe it. This life is real ****** up sometimes.

Everyone knows how much of a family guy he is. First thing I thought about when I heard the news is Monty and his wife being super supportive for Ryan Anderson when he went through his own ****. Letting him sleep in their crib and always being there for him at his lowest point. Now he's got 5 kids to take care of without their mother.

 It's just sad.

only in terms of playing ball b and whining and crying on the court or after *****-ing to the reporters. Completely different. if you arent emotional about death, you're a cyborg and I can't build with you.

The way KD broke down, thought it was his wife or girlfriend at first

It's normal to be sad, but to break down like that was a little surprising

Brooklyn's 2017 and 2018 picks aren't quality assets too? That team is getting better anytime soon? They don't have a GM or coach at the moment and rumor is they're gonna hire Bryan Colangelo for the GM job. So good luck with that.

i mean you gotta imagine it's like losing a family member. He see's monty literally every day. So he knows what kind of dude he is. We always hurt more for the good people in our lives. Then I'm sure he's seen the wife and kids at christmas parties and around the arena. When you get connected to someone and then something happens to them, you feel it. Just off knowing what kind of dude Monty is and knowing of his situation..I felt terrible for him. Hurt my heart hearing that yesterday.

agreed. I've been married for almost 8 months now and I understand the connection. KD is recently married as well. If something were to happen to my wife, you could go ahead and put a bullet in my head because I would be done... and its only been 8 months. Monty has been married for years. KD has probably seen this man at the lowest of the lows.

Death is weird man. It leaves you feeling so vulnerable and helpless.

I respect it. I think it just shows how much love and respect all the players, coaches, etc in the NBA had for the Williams family.

They wouldn't even be as bad if rhj didn't get hurt. They were trending up before his injury. Losing jarrett jack hurt them too. A core of rhj, brook and Thad is decent and mccollugh is supposed to be good. They'll have cap room to add a decent role player or better. I don't see them being as bad as this year. Which is why I feel ainge should move those picks asap before they lose value.

If it's not a top 3 pick it's not worth much. Even if they land at 3 this year, that's kris dunn. He'd be theit best guard prospect but where do you go from there? Phoenix suns it and ride out with the guard platoon? If you trade him you get a decent return but probably no one that much better than you already have. Trade one of the other guards who has less value, less return?

They have a chance to make something happen but things have to break perfect for them

This. Hard to say there is a right or wrong way to grieve since everyone is different.

That's his homie, Monty is probably one of the most genuine people you could meet in the league. Did you forget what he did for Ryan Anderson when his lost his GF?

And for some reason people think the term "enotional" is an insult. I said KD was clearly an emotional person after we saw his MVP speech and a-friend came at metalking about I must have lived an extremely privileged life to say something like that.

Yeah. Really depends on who you're asking. My wife has occasionally gotten on my case about not being emotional enough. Everything is relative, I guess.
