If Kobe was the kind of man who would be ok with being the 12th man on team usa, cheering his teammates on, he wouldn't be chucking up 4 from 17 from 3 for a game.

Hey, it works in Bobsled - Germany, Switzerland and others get a couple of teams - and their B squad usually beats most of the other countries.

I personally don't care if Kobe's on the team, and think he will be on the team, but There is no doubt the US will win gold with or without Kobe. He isn't making a difference there. The amount of sheer marketing ability Nike can have with Kobe on the team is too much to not put him on there. He's freaking Kobe Bryant. The last hoorah.
But if he's on the team that probably means someone who's far more deserving didn't make it. That's an honor to be on a gold medal olympic team, and it isn't some guarantee that that player will be able to have this opportunity in 2020. Who knows what will happen in 2020.

Honestly, I prefer Blake not to go. The beating his body will take this season will be rough. IMO his pop is already waning a bit

Actually I believe his performance in 2014 in Spain Worlds put him in good graces with them

CP3 and Wade are good friends. Wade learned from the Master Shaq on how to take a vacation during the season and passed it to CP3. Wade and CP3 will both be hurt around spring break..

If he says he wants to, then there's no way he isn't going to be on the team.
There's far too many ways to rationalize it, by saying that he's a leader, two time olympian, veteran leadership, can still play a bit when surrounded by stars, yadaydayda
