I swear some of you are applying football sensibilities to basketball

.

It works so much differently in basketball. The best team usually always win.

is draygreen hakeem in the post? hell no
is draygreen a bully in the post? yes, especially if he's posting up a smaller player.

Maybe so, but I'd rather take my chances with Draymond bullying his way to the bucket for 2 or getting fouled then give up a basically uncontested 3 to Steph or Klay.

elite coaching from Kerr & Popovich puts GS & SA over the top as clear favorites for the title

Serious Question...is Kerr an Elite coach or is his squad just that much better than everybody else? :nerd:

i consider him elite because he took over the same core from Jackson's tenure & turned a 50 win team to a 67 win team.

GS would've won 50+ games for the next 5 years with Mark Jackson but Kerr took them over the top & coached them to being one of the best teams of all time.

His team. Unless those also believe Walton is Elite as well.
Kerr instilled what he needed to into the team so that now that Walton is running things they haven't missed a step.

It also doesn't need to be either/or. Both the team and the coach can be elite. That's usually how it works

So Curry and Green haven't gotten any better, It's all just Kerr tweaking things?

yeah i agree but there are def a bunch of times when i saw the exact play with no double team turned into a 3 point play for green. it's really pick your poison man

I tend to think this as well.

Jackson instilled the committment to defense and Gentry put in the offense. So was Kerr just in the right place at the right time? :nerd:

I just said it doesn't have to be either/or. Curry and Green getting better is part of it too.

I like stevens a lot, but you think Hoiberg is a better coach than Kerr? He hasn't impressed me at all
Since Jimmy Butler's very public criticism, "Buckets" has been enjoying a savage 2016 minus the Dallas dud. Two critiques I have are: Getting the team to compete and perform better on the road, and developing Mirotic's offensive consistency. Bulls are 24-16 and currently holding the #3 seed, to be expected shifting and transitioning from two polar opposites in HCs. Thibs had a very distinct grinding, defensive approach. Mayor's success is predicated on his offensive system. You can't expect the same core of players to seamlessly adapt a brand new mantra.

Nah. Basically, once it hits around 10:30 pm, I'm physically unable to leave my house. Age :smh:
Older I get, the more enticing a nice glass of Macallan neat in the confines of my home becomes increasingly appealing.

Outside of Pops, Stevens, Vogel, Kerr and Carlisle (and maybe SVG)... it's rather meh
You honestly didn't meant to exclude Mayor. I'm looking forward to Shaka in the NBA as well, once he convinces his wife it's the right move.

Hoiberg is still an unknown to me, if Thibbs was still active I'd have him in that list

What do you like most about Hoiberg, Champ?
