I wish I could rep this :Rollin

Nah nah nah.

Kobe in 06 is one of my top 3 favorite seasons ever from a player. Off the top of my head I know he hit 40+ 25 or more times, 50 or more 6 times, etc.

Kobe wasn't this efficient. Kobe didn't have this type of gravity as a player that season. Stop it.

I ******* knew you were gonna bring up ts% or Per or something . Like clockwork

You have a valid point but it's totally subjective. Like saying a honda is better than a Lambo because it gets better gas mileage.

So, today, TIM DUNCAN became the 1st player ever to hit 3k Blocks, and he passed Malone on the Rebound List for 6th All Time:pimp:

Top 15 center without question

It shouldn't take a min to condition the mind when dude already hit 11 3's before that moment.

Right . It ain't that damn hard to adjust. Just a slow brained, lack of awareness situation

You have to make ANY ball handler change directions, let alone a dude who can pull from 40 feet.

Yea dudes are talking about, "It takes take to break a habit."

We aren't talking about Jabari Brown or Patrick Christopher. Somebody who an NBA Player might not automatically remember the strengths/weaknesses of. We are talking about the best shooter that ever played in the league. You know what you have to do vs. him (Whether it works if a different story), but you know you have to guard him THAT far out with less than 4 seconds remaining.

I don't buy the, "But that isn't what you were taught as a kid" logic. Nah.

It takes a while to break a habit. A habit is something so ingrained in you, you don't even realize you're doing it. Takes many reps of conscious thinking and going against what you're taught to learn how to break your unconscious thinking.

At least give opponents the season to learn what they need to learn

Son's shooting is unprecedented and needs an unprecedented way of thinking on defense to battle it

Again, Roberson had to make Steph do something other than casually walk up into that shot. That isn't too much to ask for.

Make him turn.
Make him do something.

You have to know who you are playing against

So risk him blowing by you for a potential layup, because he had plenty of time to get that far, instead of getting back and force a contested long shot? NO good defender would do that. It just looks bad because curry decided to take an awful shot. Also, I'm assuming he thought there'd be a timeout called. I'm not gonna kill him in that situation. A lot of factors went into play.

For whatever reason, people cannot accept that the dude made a 40 footer.... Somebody has to be blamed (instead of giving credit where it is due) for this failure.

If curry had gotten the rebound and simply hucked a one handed shot from 75 feet, people would still be upset with the defense played against him.

if roberson got up on him, steph wouldve just drove by him with ease. he pulled up from near halfcourt. nothing u can do about it

Why are we so sure of this? Why are we pretending that Steph has never been contained for a single possession?

When you guarantee that Roberson would have been blown by, that is exactly what you are doing.

But ok, I tap out of this discussion. We have been going at it since last night.
Again this. OKC (and Roberson in general) acted like there was nothing to worry about, as if they haven't been seeing Curry hit halfcourt shots like layups. I could only imagine if that was Chris Paul goofing like that how many rolling smilies we would've seen instead of taking up for him so much.
Huh man.

If it was anybody else, I can understand.

Not that dude.

Roberson is a good enough defender to be able to contain for a split second. Cause disruption in Steph's mind.

My issue here is the COMPLETE LACK OF RESISTANCE in that last sequence. There was ZERO resistance. ZERO.

I am simply saying to provide SOMETHING in the form of resistance.

I am not saying to aggressively pick him up at half. But simply be there and make Steph do something other than walk right into a comfortable shot.

Remove comfort.
Remove comfort.
Remove comfort.

Is all I am saying

I dig it, I'm just saying I ain't bashing him in that scenario. A lot happens, fast.

Not bashing man. Just having a conversation. Nothing more, nothing less. You are right, it is so fast and it takes time to process stuff. And maybe he didn't pick up because he was afraid of what would happen and it is "easier" to get beat by a 40 footer.

Crazy that Spurs may well win 65 games this year and nobody outside of San Antonio is going to care because of what the Warriors are doing.
And when we make it to the finals it'll be "We never counted out the Spurs". It's all good though.

I look at game winners in 2 ways.. 1 if you're down and need to hit the shot to win..2 If you're tied and you miss, you can just go to OT.. Curry shot still nice though

I also do this. Seems like we see more game winners with a tie game than when trailing

Hold up,WHO did Phil just compare Steph too on Twitter?

Chris Jackson.Which is the best comparison to Steph in terms of a player from the past.

Makes perfect sense and is a good reference point.

He wasn't doing THIS but if you had to write a police report on their games, it would basically be identical.

I would like to see players stats in these exact situations. I agree, trailing and hitting a game winner is pure :pimp:

It isn't that simple man. You're sitting at home on the couch saying this. Roberson did the right thing.
The RIGHT THING?

Come on you think running away from STEPH CURRY and letting him walk into a shot is THE RIGHT THING?

Come on yo.

Dell might wanna have a phone call with maury povich. Eerily similar game and goatee as steph

The fact that Roberson didn't do it is understanable. Habits, in that moment creep up.

But that's why I said last night where Curry shot from didn't matter. Basketball 101, with that low of a shot clock, and with that far for the ball handler to go, you turn him, make him change directions at least once.
