I'd like to know why we're using a top 5 player to determine whether or not Steph is a good defender. No 1 is stopping Russ, doesn't change the fact that Steph is good defensively

Dame is the only player that REALLY gives Steph problems. You guys bring up Westbrook like he doesn't give EVERYONE problems, Dame always torches GS for 30+

Actually, I'll let Drose slide. He put up 29 and 30 in the two games he played against them

Cp3 gives curry fits.

But other than that...Steph is a good defender. He just doesn't LOOK like one. People seem to think Russ is a good defender when he's bad on that end. They just see the steals and his physique/athleticism and conclude he's a good defender. He's not.

Stuff is also a very good rebounder for his position. Putting up almost 5 per game for his career...and 5.5 this year. Those are SG shooting guard numbers. Steph being frail, light skin and baby faced has people thinking he doesn't contribute on the other side of the ball . He's improved ALOT on the defensive end. Watch him. He's always in position.

QFT. CP has given curry fits but thats not a knock on him and Ive been saying for a minute he's a VERY GOOD defender, even on someone like Chris Paul.

No one beats him off the dribble, is a very strong player for his size on that end, and has excellent timing. Him not guarding elite 1's is more of a function of how good klay is on that end, as opposed to how bad steph is.

carver carver what happened to the to Minny tonight bruh?

Dallas games are now blacked out in OKC on NBAtv and League pass so I missed it all, did someone get hurt? Thought that would have been a shootout not a blowout.

I think part of the reason that the perception of Steph being a "bad" defender persists is because he still often gets "hidden" on the worst wing/backcourt player on the other team. But that's really more a testament to how good the other guys on the Warriors are on D and not really a reflection of Steph's competence on that end.

Lol, I don't think anyone in here was ever saying Steph is a bad defender.

The whole discussion started from one dude who said Dame is the ONLY person to give Steph fits. That's not true, at all.

What's so funny about what he said?

Considering the ages of their key guys, its a little premature to start talking about the Dubs starting to show signs of vulnerability. That might not start to happen for another five years.

We're pretty dookie on the 2nd game of a back to back.. pretty sure we only have 1 win this year in that situation. I mean... we're pretty **** overall but on b2b we're really really bad.

No one is hurt.. but we had Gorgui and KAT trying to chase Parsons around.. that wasn't it, every shot they wanted they pretty much got with little effort. They scored 100 in 3 quarters. We're just really bad

I thought it started because someone said that his offense makes up for his shortcomings on defense, which he doesn't really have.

Trust me, it's not only tonight. Let's just say he's an inconsistent chucker
he is a volume so I definitely understand what you're saying. With a team that has no identity, he should be the dominant player like a star should be. But the excuse is warranted for this year due to him coming back from his leg injury
